First Race on the Busa: Didn't go well

bet you were chewin a hole in the seat weren't ya

Happens to everyone the first time I guess...if you are going to line up with someone and be serious about it, you probably want to head to a track an practice a lot. Go early in the day and practice your launches, then practice getting 1/2 down the track before rolling off it, then work your way up to going balls out for the 1/4 mile

You'll probably save yourself money and pain doing it that way....cuz if you keep that up on the street you are gonna wind up hurt, ticketed and with a banged up busa :poke:

Oh yeah :welcome: to the Org :beerchug:

ok; just got back from track in Mobile (Theodore). Had a buddy I used to race Modifieds with follow me over. He races a Gixxer 750 now. He gave me some good pointers. Things I never had to worry about on the sportsters. Like leaning down over the tank, stretching out the clutch, using my feet to keep my balance, and not letting the front end coming up throw me into a panic. Wich for me was really embarrasing; i'm one of those guys that does wheelies on everything. Don't know why this one spooks me so bad. Think it's the knowledge this one has so much power that i've never dealt with. I got alot to learn about this thing. Kind of embarrasing for me; but what the heck, i'm never gonna grow up anyway. But i'm gonna have alot of fun.

You don't have anything to prove on the street.. Do it at the track and try not to wreck that bike by challenging people on street.

you should ride around the kawi dealership and wait for a newbie on a 14 to come out and then challenge him
:poke:
