Everyone,
Thank you for your advice regarding the Hayabusa as my *second* bike after having ridden the Ninja 250 for a year. My 'busa was delivered about 90 minutes ago, and, after getting some gas for the tank (was not full from the dealer) I have just completed my first ride on my new machine.
All I can say is, wow!
I kept the bike in Mode C most of the time, but switched to B and A where opportunity allowed once rolling. The bike will live in Mode C most of the time. I was very pleased to find that the throttle and clutch are easy to control--no surprises. This made for easy stops and low-speed turns, as well as easy starts from a stop. It is VERY true that the bike gains speed quickly--without the rider really realizing how fast he is going. I had to keep a close eye on the speedo, especially since the police are out in force this weekend due to the Independence Day holiday.
Very manageable bike... and I think it will be LOTS of fun as long as I continue to ride sensibly.
To cap it all off, I got home at just the right time to meet (in person, and actually TOUCH--shook hands) the hot young lady I see running around here every now and then.
I'm liking this bike already...
Mike
