First Ride!

I think as your first Busa white is a good choice. As you learn the bike and get used to the power you can trade it in for a silver/gray 09.

Seriously, nice looking bike. Have fun and be safe

Had another little ride today... raining so didn't stay out much. I do notice a bit of a rough idle, as others (at least one other person, anyway) have noticed. Will see how things change after the first oil change in another 550 miles.

Keeping it pretty much under 5500 rpm... have yet to open her up because I run out of legal backing too quickly to do so. Seriously. 35 miles an hour to 60 in the space of, literally a couple seconds. It just isn't right...!!!

One question... how can I remove the reflectors on the back of the bike? It seems there's a nut behind the cowling holding the bolts in place, and if I remove the bolts those nuts are going to be rattling around in the cowling somewhere...

Thanks,

Mike

I agree but he just got his 1st Busa. You know where his priorities are gonna be for now.

The busa won't lure you in, then leave and take half your belongings when she does. She'll always treat you the same as you treat her. Just don't let the hot running lady take you for a ride. I believe the priorities are in the correct order...

On another note, the C mode is ok and all, but its all in the wrist really. After I left the dealership with mine i think i used C mode about twice before I started forgetting it and getting tired of bothering with it. It didn't matter at all really because I wasn't whipping her that hard to make any difference between A or C for about the first 1000 miles at least. Just take it easy and get used to her. You'll find she has a downright wicked side after about 7-8k rpm.

Congrats on the new bike

r1d3on3,

Going through that situation with a woman right now (hence why I can only LOOK at the pretty running lady for the time being). I agree with your assessment. :-)

Bikes definitely treat a man better than a woman... at least you know what you're getting!

:welcome: and congratulations on your ride. :beerchug:

The reflectors do have a nut on them. If you take off the rear cowl/seat you can bend the lip of the undertail tray enough to maybe get your fingers down enough to reach the nut. It's a bit of a pain but well worth it, also might want to use a magnet to fish them out so they don't slide down inside.
