Funny you should mention that.......??? Any time I go anywhere there are bikes, I get more people asking about mine than the guys on 12's or custom harleys do!

Get something light and corner friendly, not the big Ninja or the Busa. GSXR1000's and ZX-10R's and R1's come to mind.
Have you ever rode either one of them for more than 45 minutes? Their ergos SUCK. The 12 handles better than the Busa, and is its equal in power/speed. What's not to like?
I rode about two hours out to a party last Saturday and two hoursback after the party.  It was not bad at all.  Perhaps my Heli-Bars help?  Plus, although I weigh 240 suited up, and am only 5'11" so, I am not totally cramped on the bike.  Other than the seat getting a little hard, it is fine.  I have been on several other good long rides too, such as the 110 miles each direction to Famoso Dragstrip and back.  Of course, when you live out in the Mojave Desert, every ride is longer than those that urban folks encounter. I figure it is sort of like riding a bicycle.  You build up endurance if you hit the road a lot. The Busa is a lot more comfortable than I expected.  I do not like the slope of the ZX-12's saddle and, after riding the Busa, you feel as if you are going to get nose bleed sitting way up there on the ZX.  But everything is a matter of preference.
No, I meant on a literbike. The Busa's and 12's ergos are fine.

I have to confess to never having riden a modern sports bike other than Brakelate's late ZX9 and I hated it. All scrunched up in a fetal position. I screamed at him to give me back my Guzzi ASAP. But, I was without my car for the past three weeks due to the T56 failing, and I used the Guzzi for grocery shopping, and it felt funny after riding the Busa. Great grocery getter though, because the seat is more or less flat and it blends into the gas tank so there is plenty of room to put a full paper bag of groceries in front of you and pull your t-shirt down over the bag to transport. Bring the knees up and you are good to rumble. Can't do that on the Busa.
But, I did sit on a couple of sports bikes at the dealer and they were as bad or worse than the Kawi9. High pegs etc.
Not for this old rider.
And, I got the car back today all repaired for a million $$$$. I immediately went to Costco and bought over $200 in groceries and later I hit two other stores. Cages do have their uses.

Is that your same ballistic 170 mph T-shirt? Wow, it not only doubles as saftey equipment, hand towel and personal love interest, but also as a cargo net for transporting your groceries?

Too bad they went out of production 20 years ago, or I'm sure they would still be selling like hot-cakes!

Any t-shirt will do for transporting a bag of groceries. And, I never speed with groceries on the bike. Us fat people treat a bag of groceries with extreme respect. I can not even begin to contemplate how bad I might feel if anything happened to my groceries while I was packing them home. It would be almost as bad as if I dropped a full 1.75 litre bottle of Tanquerey and it shattered and broke. Even just writing about such things makes me unbalanced and upset.

Yeah, I would hate to see you bruise your melons on the way back.

You sure know how to paint a pretty mental picture. Making all those other Busa owners proud!

Speaking of which, do any of those Hobo's ever mess with the bike when you park it behind your shack down by the train tracks?

For you wanna be's, LACR last Weds (they were closed Fri). Bad quality since it was taken from a video:

Anyone interested in going to Irwindale tomorrow night? Good traction and no sandstorms (or ridiculous elevation) unlike LACR...but it's only 1/8 mile. If so, I'll see you there...hasn't been too many bikes lately.

They run on Thursdays? Tetge is at LACR right now practicing up some more.

I hear from our Mustang clubbers that it's like a scene from Fast and Furious down there... all crowded and crazy. Plus, only running the 1/8th., hell my stock bike dosn't even start building steam by then!

Come on up and take the LACR challenge. It would add legitimacy to our "slow" times and perhaps more people out of state would understand the handicaps we face.

I refuse to run that track as I want to go faster than the 1/8th will let me. And, I hate crowds. But, I have to admit LACR is a turkey shoot. Tonight there were three jet cars running on a very cold track. Nice and cool but, for the first time ever, my Busa spun up the tire at 100+ in both lanes. I just packed up and left because it was too slippery to run. They are having a jet car meet this Sat so the jets were practicing and oiling down the track. That 30 gallons of diesel fuel that they burn on a run does not all burn. They may be practicing Friday so I am staying away Friday too.
But, LACR is still a legit 1/4 mile strip and it takes skill to get down it. I get to run the 1/8th every time I run the 1/4 so it offers everything that an 1/8 mile track offers and then it also offers the rest of the 1/4.
You must have a trailer to take your bike to Irwindale with. If you ever decide to hit LACR, post up so we can ambush you.
