Forget the mods....

Just got back from a 100 mile ride this afternoon.

What a bike....

I think when you post on this forum it's easy to forget - what a great bike we own. We are all guilty of thinking how to improve it... not how great it is as standard.

I love it.

For an A road (not sure what they are called in the states) blaster this bike hauls ass at an amazing rate. I LOVE the power, the handling and the overall smile the bike induces every time you sling a leg over it.

OK - it sounds pants with the shite mortat tubes in place (i am doing the R77

) and the brakes are a bit "i hope this stops..... oh yes im slowing down now" but apart from that, you can keep your manic gixer zx R1 thousands, for 90% of the time this bike plain makes sense. If you ride it at 70% i cant think of a better way to spend 4 hours and £20 worth of petrol...

I have spent the afternoon rolling on and off the throttle, laying it down in the corners, leaving my mate on a GSXR-600 and wife on SV650 behing everytime i do so, flowing round the bends, covering a 100 miles with ease.

I really cant wait for the summer.

Heres some pics from the ride out.

Had to be a great ride! Bike looks good too, except for those stickers. That avatar is amazing, BTW.

I agree amazing bike for me, I made a believer out of a 2300cc rocket rider today. I'm not sure how much time has elapsed since I've been staring at your avatar!

Apparently i just need to get a hairdryer on the stickers and they peel off easy.... next "mod" lol

It's shot at "Rutland Water" near my home town of Leicester. Theres a nice 26 mile lap of the whole thing you can do and then stop off in the shoreside cafe for some grub. You just to have to watch the ducks dont sh1te on your bike LOL

We have had an amazing weekend in the UK - sunny both days... not bad for January.

GLOBAL WARMING - TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN Lol

I've never felt the need to mod something unless it lacks what I need....and thats always strictly been for speed. As I've gotten newer faster bikes I've modded less and less. My current machines are COMPLETELY stock in every way right down to stickers and reflectors...only things I've changed are slip-on exhausts/air filters/pc's/tre's/gearing/pulling flies. Everything else is showroom stock...and thats just the way I like it

When you do tons of customizing just to turn around and sell the bike in a couple years it just doesn't make sense. You lose a ton of money and time invested...and just start the whole process over again. I guess it just aint for me
