So what I am trying to say is that the Slider is spotless though there may be some minor pitting and such on the Fork tube... Just normal bug zapping kinda stuff... But otherwise everything is 100%.
 
I haven't heard from him either, and I've sent him two e-mails.

I had a re-think as well. I gotta send my headers in anyway, so let me get a stem stand, and build a crate for the forks, then I'll ship em up to you. Then you return the crate loaded with yours, sound good?

Yeah, it's a deal. We've just gotta figure out whether or not a stem stand will work for the job. I'm not sure it will hold the front high enough to get the tubes down and out of the triples without hittin' the floor. I'm gonna hit the garage either tonight or tomorrow to get 'er up on the stands and see what's up. I'm game as long as I'm able to do the swap myself. Not interested in payin' anybody to do it for me.

I'll hit you up as soon as I have a chance to take a look at it and see what's up.

Now, if only the Pit Bull Newfront will hold it high enough. I think maybe it will. If not I'll build me a platform out of 2 X 4 scraps to go underneath the stand wheels and handle to give me some extra room.

Looks like I'll be removing the nose cowling for the first time during this swap. Can't wait to dig in!!!

He's gettin all sentimental... Sorta like folks wedging a Pan head into a modern chassis... This is one of those win win kinda deals...

Oh and train the 2X4's are a good idea... I hadn't thought of that... I'll get to it, I'll post up when I start to actually pull things apart...

Nothin' special regarding the forks. I just HATE gold accents on my rides and wanted the silver finish of the '02 forks. Rev wants the black lowers of the '03 forks. So, we're swappin' forks so we both get what we want without havin' to buy a second set of forks.
