I am in the process of tearing this apart to install the 240 and what all needs to come off to get the front gear cover off.Looks like 4 bolts but not sure.Is the slave cylinder right there??
Yes it is..plus the speed sensor is there also..if u want to take the cover completely off u will have to disconnect the slave cyclinder line..but if i was u i would try to leave the slave cyclinder attached to the cover and try to tie the whole thing up on the bike somewhere..because bleeding the clutch sucks..lol
If u was going to tie the thing up i would even get c vice grips and put them on the back of that slave cyclinder where the piston is ..not any pressure just enough so the piston will not back out..i really dont know over time if it will back out,but it would be a mess if it did..plus thats clutch fluid and it tears up any plastic it touches..maybe even put a sack over the whole thing..i would not put any pressure on those vice grips or u might over flow the reservoir on the bike..not good..
Guess I will take the side plastics off, then take that cover off with the slave and just tie it out of the way.Does the coolant resevoir need to come off.
I can ziptie the piston or rod to hold it in.It wont be off very long.Just long enough to swap gears, and clean that area up and pull the new chain over.Guess we will see how it goes.
Well that came apart pretty easy.Had to clean a huge mess of old chain lube and now she shines.New offset sprocket on.I did a quick chain clearance check and I still have 1/8" clearance to the frame.Wont know untill the new arm is on but that should be easy grinding for me.Anything else I should check while I am in there??
