Front sprocket cover removal

My goal here is to clean the inside of the cover"¦

When I remove the cover, is there anything concerning the clutch release cylinder I need to worry about? What about the push rod?

Will the cylinder stay on the cover?

I figure as long as I don't squeeze the lever, everything should be ok.

Yes? No?

You can bleen the clutch after you remove it as well?? Does anyone have a pic of where I should attach my mity-vac to suck the crud out

Why do you want to bleed the clutch? There's a port on the bottom of the slave.

Funny, I was thinking about doing this this weekend. Take lots o pics!!

Impact air wrench! No need to bleed it if you are putting back on the OEM cover. If you are replacing it with a Canadian Mike billet, then you will need to.
BTW, you will be amazed at the crud in there....
Keeping chain and sprockets clean is like religion man.

Good not to squeeze the lever but no big deal if you do.

I just did the Canadian Mike cover and sprocket change last night. The piston is approx 3/4" tall, squeezing the lever only moves it slightly. I had to squeeze the lever many times to remove the piston so I could look at the overall condition, bleed and dissemble. And then I still had to pull the piston out with my fingers the last bit of travel. You will be alright just cleaning and reusing the cover.

Changing my front sprocket tomorrow.

Fingers crossed.

have you done it before?
Yeah really, heard you need a hella bar.  LOL
use an impact
I've done it many times on other bikes.
But, this is the first time for the Busa.

105 ft lbs.

Yikes!

Just did it without an impact gun.

You'll need a 20"+ breaker bar and a steel rod(wrapped in a towel) to put through the swingarm and rear wheel.  The rear brake isn't enough, I had a guy on the passenger seat, another on the front and rear brakes and I was still spinning the rear tire...

And its a 105ft-lbs with lock-tite!
