I'm starting to get worried about my fuel consumption. I'm getting about 29mpg.
Mods:
- titanium 4-2-1 exhaust
- small airbox mod
- BMC street filter
- PC3 USB with custom map (by Wheeler at Deals Gap)
- Speedohealer
- GPS/TRE mod (bought from a member on the .org)
throttle bodies are synch'd and i'm trying out the CR8E's (too much carbon build up on the 9E's)
everyone says my bike seems to run rich (stinks of gasoline)
I don't exactly ride like a grandpa, but i'm not doing high speed runs all the time either. HOWEVER, I do tend to ride the rpms into the upper ranges in 1st and 2nd gear before shifting.
Have a Gen 1 with 18/42 gearing which at 75 mph is turning 4000 RPM. If I ride at steady pace on freeway I can get 48 MPG, however if I start to ride little more aggressively and get the RPMs higher or just around town in stop and go traffic average between 36-40 MPG. Just had my Busa finally custom tuned and gained 4-5 MPG. Old map was given to me by a friend that that had theirs tuned and had close to same mods as mine ran little on rich side on my Busa.
I commute to work 50 miles round trip, in traffic that takes me about 45mins to go the 25 miles each way (820 and up I-35 of you know Ft. Worth) and I constantly average around 39mpg.....on weekend spirited rides I average about 42-45, and have averaged 49mpg before. Like was said, anyone averaging 25mpg should get that looked into....
188 Miles to reserve is normal, usually somewhere between 180-190 when mine comes on. And you still have over a gallon left when it comes on. The reserve comes on at 4.3 gallons used, which leaves you at least another 40 miles. When I recently pulled my tank, I ran it till it hit reserve at 185 miles, then ran another 40+ miles to drain the tank (about 230 miles total). When I pumped the rest out there was easily a 3rd of a gallon or more left in there.
Of course with the Aux fuel tank on, I am good for 450+ miles - under the bag on the rear.
50????? How you getting that homes??? LOL The best I've ever gotten is 46 and I haven't come close to that since. I'm averaging 42 mpg but can't keep away from the passing action.
50 is what I normally get.. I got almost 52 comming back from New York.. (and no I don't ride like grandma )
I look for stations with pumps that have individual lines for each grade of gas. That way your filling up with all high grade gas. (talking Gen2)
The cheap stuff really hurts the mileage....shes just not that kinda girl.
I hear you on that my 08 on the highway around 70 mph in C mode I have hit 50 - 52 mpg a few times but back road im getting about 45 mpg. Not sure if cruising in C mode does much for fuel but I put it up to A getting on highways, passing or when ever but cruising I leave it in C. Does anyone no if this matters?
I took mine put for a ride just a few days ago, it's a bone stock 2006, and pulled 47 mpg out of it riding conservatively with few stops at around a 50mph average. On average in town I get between 38-42 mpg. On the interstate riding I get between 41-44 mpg usually running between 70-110mph, the slower I go, the better the mileage.
