fuel gauge not working

*1bondoman....do you mean short out the wires at the plug? (plugs into the sensor wire loom) and the gauge should do something?

Hi Peeps

right im trying to sort this fuel level sensor out ???...background story...i was hit a while back and the car damaged allot of my fairings so i found a whole set of fairings on ebay and swapped my tank for his (think he was converting to a street fighter-why would you do that to a busa i'll never know but anyway) so the tank matched the fairings. (the fuel sensors were swapped as well) now my sensor doens't move the needle/gauge. I have checked the tank sensor and i get a progressive ohm reading... so that works, ive check the cable and plugs and they are all ok. The only thing i can think of is that his busa was newer than mine...so will the wiring be different? or is there something to calibrate or check inside the clock unit?

Hey sorry about that I was going to ask aquestion but it took me to sign in page lol.
But anyway yes I bought a used 07 w/20k on it . It was lowered and set up to drag
I dont have much info on it.
The gas guage doesnt work. Not since be4 I owned it I'm not sure what's wrong with it.or even where.to start. Could it be a cluster issue?
Also it had a gipro gear indicator with atre but it's an early model prob . I cant find any info on that model or Install and program. it's all plugged in ad has power as long as its connected to the right power wire. I have a feeling the display is bad.
So anywayI just assumed the gauge has to be bad. What's the best way to check? And where can I find a wire diagram?

Congrats on the new ownership.Buying a bike that has been drag raced is never a good idea. (monday morning quarterback) sorry bout that. I would lose any "mods" to start with. May need more info as we go along.If previous owner has gone into the wiring for fuel pump,gauge circuitry I might start there. There is a test for everything. There are wiring diagrams everywhere,but you are better off just to have a manual in front of you.
