Galfer rotors

This is the main reason why when changing out my rotors/pads this winter I did not go an expensive set. I bought a lightly used set of OEM for $75 and they work great with EBC HH pads. The fact of the matter is there are a lot of parts that could cause your $600 rotors to go bad prematurely and there is not much you can do about it.

They sure do look nice, but I will stick with OEM.

I had some on my 03 GSX-R 600 and they performed just fine for a couple of years.

Best of luck with it. How close are the brake pads. If they're close I would change them and see what happens

It turns out it was a defective caliper. Hydraulic issue would not let the pistons retract completely, which would drag the pads ever so slightly, causing heat, and the warping the rotor.

Only after doing a spin test on each caliper, did we figure it out. Take off one caliper, spin the wheel and count the rotations, and then do it again on the other side. It was quite obvious after that what was the problem.

I don't get it - these rotors are designed for hard use which presumably raises their temperatures to several hundred degrees.

How could dragging that's light enough to let the wheel spin make it hot enough to warp, time or no time?

would chrome if covering the bolt holes for the rotor cause the rotor not to torque right to the wheel?

Possibly because of the thickness of the chrome, I've got some new eBay rotors on order, I will be checking each caliper to see if ones not releasing fully.

Sent from my busa!
