This is the story of The Gay Parrot

A guy decides that maybe he'd like to have a pet and goes to a pet shop.

After looking around he spots a parrot sitting on a little perch; it doesn't have any feet or legs. The guy says out loud, "Geez, I wonder what happened to this parrot?"

"I was born this way," says the parrot. "I'm a defective parrot."

"Ha, ha," the guy laughs. "It sounded like this parrot actually understood what I said and answered me."

"I understand every word," says the parrot. "I am a highly intelligent and thoroughly educated bird."

"Yeah?" the guy asks. "Then answer this: how do you hang onto your perch without any feet?"

"Well," the parrot says, "this is a little embarrassing, but since you asked, I will tell you. I wrap my little parrot penis around this wooden bar, kind of like a little hook. You can't see it because of my feathers."

"Wow," says the guy, "you really can understand and answer; can't you?"

"Of course. I speak both Spanish and English. I can converse with reasonable competence on almost any subject: politics, religion, sports, physics, philosophy. And I am especially good at ornithology. You should buy me; I am a great companion."

The guy looks at the $200.00 price tag. He says. "I can't afford that."

"Pssst," the parrot hisses, motioning the guy over with one wing. "Nobody wants me because I don't have any feet. You can get me for $20.00; just make an offer."

The guy offers twenty dollars and walks out with the parrot. Weeks go by and the parrot is sensational. He's funny; he's interesting; he's a great pal, he understands everything, sympathizes, and gives good advice. The guy is delighted.

One day the guy comes home from work and the parrot says, "Pssst," and motions him over with one wing. The guy goes up close to the cage. "I don't know if I should tell you this or not," says the parrot, "but it's about your lover and the mailman."

"What?" asks the guy.

"Well," the parrot says, "when the mailman came to the door today, your lover greeted him in a pair of briefs that showed everything and kissed him on the mouth."

"What happened then?" asks the guy.

"Then the mailman came into the house and put his hand on your lovers crotch and began petting him all over," reports the parrot.

"My God!" the guy says. "Then what?"

"Then he pulled down the briefs, got down on his knees and began to lick him, starting with his chest, slowly going down and down." The parrot pauses for a long time...

"What happened? What happened?" says the frantic guy.

"That's what pisses me off. I don't know." said the parrott. "I got a hard-on, and fell off my good time perch."

Wow this has gotten huge!!
Sorry i'v been busy with meetings with the college gay, lezbian, ohana(family) club and talking with administration ppl so i havn't been able to post in a while.

You all have brought up some great points. To address the hole gays everywhere on tv and trying "force it down your throats" its not that we are trying to change your veiw, we are trying to be equal. this sort of thing happined a few years back with say african american rights, womens rights. . . minorities in general. This is just the next step to making this a true free country that is not run by any church beleifs, or even personal beleifs. It is suppost to be a free country where you live and let live. We all in everyones faces cause the only way to get laws changed is to do that. I would guess(hope) that nobody has a problem now allowing girls, blacks, asians on and on to vote, get married, hold jobs, own land. but at one point they were not allowed. The ppl at that time thought it was just as strange, didn't understand, thought it was "moraly wrong" whatever but ppl had enough vision to see that only allowing the hand full of rich white men all of these rights was not what a free country was about and they have changed those laws as ppl see this. Well here is the next step everyone. i personaly am not out to change ppl's veiws on homosexuality, and really thats not what this drive is for, this drive is for freedom and equality.

Yeah, this has really gone into an area that i wasn't really expecting. I think it was good but i don't want to be the cause of bad beef between yall. i really was just interested in finding out about some gay riders, i am a real person, not just trying to start stuff. Thanks to all of you supporters out there. Its always nice to see, hard to find sometimes, motor world can be even harder.
To those against well, i hope you can find a good way to explain to your kids why you don't like ppl you don't even know on reasons that you can't prove. Its your beleifs, more power to you. You are allowed to live the life you want and how you want it, all i ask is that you let me live mine on equal levels.

thinker-- yawn.

Ask for your money back for the "degree" === you were robbed.

Comment: I can't agree more. You deserve every individual right and freedom as any other citizen. The only disagreement I have objected to is in the case of marriage. I have a very good friend (AIDS activist and Gay) and we have had some great conversations-- We never quite come to agreement on some things, but he and I are ok with it. It goes something like the following:

Dr: mark, your a very openminded guy, who apparently is not offended by gays and lesbians
Me: doc of course not, I give respect to individuals on their merit regardless of sex... Your one of the most compassionate and caring people I know and respect you and your work immensly. Not to mention, a couple hot lesbias is a big turn on.
Dr: You've been watching too many porn movies haven't you? so why does the idea of gay marriage bug u??
Me: Well u choose to be gay-- u should have that freedom. However, I can't see how u can construe the union of husband and wife to be two same sex partners..
Dr: LOL. Who is to say a homosexual has choice? Let's set that aside for now. Marriage is solely a way to ensure legal benefits as in any long term relationship. Do you disagree?
Me: well why do gay rights groups poo poo on the idea of allowing civil unions and force the issue of marriage?
Dr: you answered a question with a question! Civil unions may or may not afford the people the same rights depending on the location.
Me: hmm doc, I don't know about that.

and so on.

Rather than sound off here-- everyone should put their money where their mouth is. Vaugh is running in a Marathon and could use your support. And the good doc could also use your help:

The Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation
779 Altos Oaks Drive, Suite 200
Los Altos, CA 94024

A little background:

Dr. Frascino, an award-winning classical pianist, has performed a series of concerts entitled A Concerted Effort to benefit AIDS service organizations worldwide. His efforts to date have raised more than $850,000. Dr. Frascino is the recipient of the National Society of Fundraising Executives' 1997 Distinguished Honoree/Silicon Valley Philanthropy Award. In addition to raising funds and awareness to combat the epidemic, Dr. Frascino, the recipient of the Santa Clara County Medical Association's 1997 Award for "Outstanding Contribution in Medical Education," continues to teach and lecture extensively on various topics related to HIV/AIDS. In 1999, Dr. Frascino and Dr. Natterstad, his life partner, established The Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation, a 501©(3) philanthropic organization whose sole mission is to provide crucial services for men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS and to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic through advocacy and education. In May of 2002, as part of the International AIDS Candlelight Vigil in San Francisco, Dr. Frascino accepted the Bobbi Campbell AIDS Hero Award for which he received personal letters of acknowledgement and congratulations from both Governor Gray Davis and Mayor Willie Brown.

thinker,

"If they want to get married, it is a FINANCIAL issue that relates to things like insurance benefits and debt. Why should I give a shid if two men want to call themselves married? They are probably already living together and doing all those married type things. They are only asking that their partnerships be recognized as legally binding. Who cares? "

In principal I care. Marriage is founded in christianity and there are some universal tenets that go along with it... Two guys living together does not ever equal a married couple, which is a husband and wife. Regardless of their sexual orientation, that cannot happen regardless of what some dope smoking hippy politician thinks. As for legal status, there are several legal avenues including civil unions that address legal rights. By your reasoning I could marry my pet turtle... and pronouce us husband and wife.
First off, what basis do you claim that marriage is founded in Christianity? Nobody got married before Christ was born, the Bible was written and Christian tenants were created?

So your point is that Jews, Muslims, Agnostics and Athiest can't get married?

So you say you care, but you don't explain why you care. Just don't get invloved. You bring up Christianity, from which I could site numerous tenants which say things like God will judge sinners and let he who is without sin...........Anyway, who are we to FORCE people to live by our code. Are you in favor of making it illegal for Atheists to get married because they do not worship like we do? If someone wants to go to city hall and get legally married, (not necessarily religiously married), who am I to stop it. Where in the Bible does it instruct me to stop it.

And if you want to marry your turttle, caugh up the cash for the marriage license and have at it.

Again....why should I care?
Sup Think,

I agree with most of what you say. I feel it's an individual's choice to make their own decisions (free will). As a Christian however I'm required to plant seeds when lead by the Holy Spirit. Here is one scripture from the bible:

9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

This scripture is the best depiction of who stands to be told "depart from me for I knew you not" and guess who this scripture talks about... ALL OF US!! Somewhere in that scripture we're all located. It just goes to show we're all a work in progress. The thing is as we grow closer to Christ we are convicted by the Holy Spirit and learn to limit repetition of the same mistakes.

I also agree with you on how we treat other people and their personal trials. Honestly whenever you see someone killed because of their sexual orientation, it probably means someone was trying to kill something to which they were attracted. I'm in no way qualified to place judgement because I'm just as inperfect as they are. That's why TRUE CHRISTIANS, not those who judge, not those who chastise or be little have a compassion for the lost. By accepting the right to gay marriage it's the equivalent of saying God I believe your word, but let's make an exception in this case.

But, I'll say this people if you can't see what's happening around us there are some eye openers: The bible says in the end of days the young will be younger & wiser. Now tell me who was sexually active at 10 years of age on this board. Man I was doing good at that age to control the piss, better yet strokin (I repent). Our youth are being corrupted by shows like:
The bachelor (Marriage no longer has any value)
Fear Factor (Love of money)
Queer eye for the straight guy (It's cool to be gay)

The enemy is using all avenues and tools to mislead us all, but his focus is on our kids. They are the future and lack the ability to discern what's spiritually wrong and right. That's where "parents" come into play also. We slip up he (the enemy) slips in! THAT is why so many speak out against gay marriages (Nothing wrong with speaking out, but there's a fine line between disagreement & judging). There have been homosexuals throughout time (Sodom & Gomorrah), but why are we now dealing with "gay marriages" hmmmm end of times maybe.

In closing just remember the scripture included with this reply includes everyone but Jesus, so we all have issues and need to make sure our issues are taken care of as we attempt to help others take care of theirs.
