I would probably keep the rear end Gen 1 if you don't have a problem with those wheels. No point in making things complicated and don't think there is a performance impact.

Ima just buy the axle and rear cush drive hub. I have everything. And + I got my gen 2 rims powder coated lol . They changed colors in the day time and night time
