You could probably make something alot smaller, only gaining a square trunk and a few more cubic inches. It would depend on what you needed to carry. The Gen2 tail conceals the bigger trunk easily. If you have/ like the Gen1 mudflap, it would be easier to hide. Also if you have a Gen1 aftermarket undertail, it would mean an even smaller trunk mod. I haven't worked on a Gen1 in quite a while, but I think you could get enough extra space to at least carry a 20oz drink and power commander/tools ect.

I know, they're too bright. I had to wait days for this guy to finally show me what they looked like. Now I can get some!

The box is a Sterllite brand(think that's spelled right) It was $9 at Wal-Mart. I don't know what else to do for a write up besides a detailed dis/assembly. But the tail removal is very straightforward and easy.
The only place I cheated was at the front of the black undertail. The rear brake hose goes thru a hole in the side of it. I turned the hole into a groove with a simple cut. It is unoticeable and doesn't hurt the structure of the peice. And whether or not u do this mod or not, cutting that groove makes disassembly easier and faster.

Look at the right front of the undertail. See the groove or cut out I was talkin about? That was a hole, about 2" from the edge.
