Gen 2 Trunk Mod

Done!! For sure love the space in there. You can see it a little from the side. It must have slid down a little before I drilled and mounted it.

^ i would highly recommend raising it up a bit to avoid rubbing so you don't lose your stuff.

just keep an eye on it cause i would hate to see you lose your stuff out on a ride over time. i weigh 250lbs and ride solo, moderately aggressive on the backroads, and i get some minor rubbing. i also have a rear hugger as well so that will take an inch or two from clearance

Ya I will im like 205. But that would suck. Lol

I was thinking about raising it a bit but I dont think it'll rub. My girlfriend is only like 100lbs.

Just a heads up, mine didn't rub at all and I'm 210... My wife which MAY on a good day weigh 100lbs wet caused it to rub a hole through the trash can. I still need to replace mine, glad I saw this since plastics will be off for plasti-dip this weekend I can replace while off.

I think this was one of the best mods ever dreamed up- I'm a stickler for bringing stuff with me lol. Here's my little contribution to the trunk mod thread.

It is max depth without protruding from the bottom - the side shot of the bike is with this trunk in it. Used the Home Depot Trash can. I'm stretched about 7.5" with the stock shock tightened down. Haven't ridden a psgr yet, but my passengers are light and I'll likely tighten down the rear a bit more.... so rub isn't an issue. I took time to cut it as precisely as possible to get max depth and max wall height all around.... Two 12v outlets flushed on the clutch side wall. The forward outlet is switched with a relay, the rear one is constant. I also have the hump mod, so I can really stash bodies in the trunk. Thanks 6-pack for the incredible idea.... an awesome idea with my creature-comfort twists to it.....

Disc lock pouch thingy hooks to the rail perfect and is great for keeping small stuff in.

That's a co2 tire kit with a few tools, zip ties and ziplocs in it. I tied it to the brace to maintain "floor space".....

Thanks, go for it! I just used some speaker box carpet I had laying around with spray adhesive... gives it that not-so-hollow feel..

Some really cool stuff in here guys! I am picking up another Busa this week, 2012.. Definitely going to look into doing this while it's sitting in my garage this winter!

Just did mine-all in all it wasn't bad with all the helpful folks in this thread. I started to use rivets to secure the pieces together but changed my mine and got a couple packs of screws/nuts to hold everything together.

Awesome!
I would like to try, but do not have the courage to do on my new BUSA.

LOL, I didnt have but a few miles on mine and my wife was like, what are you doing? You just have to take your time.
