Gen 3 Carbon Fiber parts

Until someone weighs them or does testing, I don’t think there is much performance advantage for the cost.
I put alot of time in finding a GOOD custom fabricator that works for a composites company as his day job. ALOT of time.... I found a guy.... in Italy..... shipping isnt cheap... but not crazy. im having a tank made right now. a 5 gallon stock replacement tank that is coated with the best stuff available to withstand some ethanol. I had to send him a stock tank to make the mold and I have some high hopes. If the tank comes out well... im gonna do full fairings and ill share the source. The tank alone is 10 pounds to be saved. I already bought a full set of triple trees/ DME subframe/ ti axles and waiting on the tank... should be 24 more pounds of weight off the bike.... i already did the battery and wheels and rearsets and some Brembo calipers with light pistons... im giving it my best shot anyway. remaining streetable is the tough part. The bike is being sent back to the builder this winter for this work. Guy isnt bad...... And he is ambitious.

Is this guy having Gen 3 carbon parts?

I live in Europe so for me it would be much cheaper to buy from him than from Japan ($900 transport for all the pieces I want).

Any part I want made... I have to send him my original STOCK part. He then would take a mold of the part and follow the prcoess to duplicate out of Carbon fiber.. This is alllll being done custom. Let me see how this full tank comes out. A full tank is a difficult thing to duplicate. I wanna make sure it comes out perfect before i vouch for him and release any info.

It is not good for me as I cannot send my whole bike to mold it. :)

If he gets a mold, he can them replicate it and sell to anybody he wants.

That is why I think that it is his job to get the stock parts and take molds out of them.

But maybe this is not his scope and he just makes custom carbon parts.

I think his dad or family owns a composites COMPANY...... He just HAPPENS to be into bikes...... Im not telling the name of the company.... not now anyway. The thing is... gooood luck buying a whole gas tank or clutch cover or full set of fairings from magical racing... they dont do it. not many do.

I know what you say and you are right, it is not a great fit for me, at least not for the moment.

Carbon fiber parts for any of the generations does not come inexpensively.....I was going to start ordering CF parts for my gen 2 but a quick price check pushed me off that kick pretty quickly....
I carboned the H out of my Gen 2, I had my take-off parts stored at my Suzi Dealer, but when he sold, the parts got tossed during a cleanup.

I hope whoever has that '09 Silver bike now, really appreciates it!

Someone said carbon?

I’m torn on what do do next. As race fairings start to come out, I’d quickly switch to a 1 piece carbon front. I’m at least going to get a carbon tank front cover. It there isn’t more race work released soon I’ll do the white trim around the rear, the cowl and the fairing behind the side fairing vent in carbon too.

Im thinking very hard in buying the part that soround the cluster
That has been on my mind too. Im probably going to paint the ram air tube covers red to match the trim and if I do that I'm going to paint the gauge surround as well and if I don't paint them I'm going to get carbon for the gauge area.

Which brand its going to be your choice?

Motocomposites if I’m honest. I’m pretty happy with the 3 other pieces I have from them. The filler panel and the fender bolted on perfectly with no mods. The only complaint I have with them is the front tab of the mirror panels. I’d think their gauge trim panel would snap into place no issues.
