Gen1 to Gen2 ECU

Yes and no. Even after selling my bike would be 2-4k at least to jump up to a gen 2. I priced swap with the bare minimum to make a gen 2 ecu work about 800-1000.
Yea a gen 1 still still have crap brakes but can upgrade master and calipers for around 300-500 with ducati master and radial calipers and brackets.
Work on it myself so labors free so can't really include that but if u had to pay someone to do it most likely wouldn't be worth it
Yes! I upgraded my brakes on my Gen 1, now they’re just as good as a Gen 2 (almost), but I just love the Gen 1 so I’m in agreement with you.
BUT… the Gen 2 has 10% more power and torque so there is that.
If you can do the labour, go for it!

What did u do to upgrade your brakes? I love my Gen 1 too, buts it's a Frankenstein lol. U can add the Gen 2 crank and do 2 intake cams and that'll have u right there with a gen 2. Pretty much which ever looks u prefer honestly since u can bring a gen 1 to the same performance as a gen 2 brakes and power wise, and cheaper to start on. But even then u can put gen 2 fairings on a gen 1 probably gen 3 too

My brake upgrade was a GSXR1000K9 Nissin Radial master cylinder, stainless braided hoses, overhauled the stock 6 piston calipers, EBC HH sintered pads, new rotors and it made a huge difference to the brakes!
I would like Gen 2 front forks, radial mount Brembo calipers and Gen 2 front wheel but that will have to wait.
Gen 2 forks are damped and sprung a little heavier to allow for the extra weight the Gen 2 has over the Gen 1, and the front rim is a little lighter so it will steer a bit nicer.
If I had the spare cash I would be doing the Gen 2 crank for the extra torque/hp but the cylinder head of the Gen 2 has titanium valves and lighter valve springs also different cams, and that would unleash more power, but I'll just have to stick with what I have at the moment.
My engine has Yoshi Stage 1 cams, new cam chain and new clutch, but it has 153,000 km on it, never had the head off or the engine out of the frame.
If I ever refresh the engine I'll over bore it and go to 83mm pistons, and freshen up the cylinder head, new mains and rod bearings, and new transmission shaft bearings.
That will do it for me.

Ok that's good to know that the nissin gives improvements to. May have to copy your set up. Already got the braided lines and sintered pads.
That's what I'd like to do as well go to a gen 2 forks but for the same price I believe they can get sent to trac dynamics to get revalved and would just have to get axial to radial adapters.
You can put gen 2 valves in your gen 1 just need to lap the valves or at most do a valve job. And they got lighter valve springs cause titanium valves are lighter and they don't like high spring pressures so u usually can get them cheap when someone goes to stainless valves. The cams aren't much bigger if I remember correctly like .005-.010 bigger on the intake. Damn u got some miles on your bike. You have a pretty solid set up already, if u freshened it up and went with a ported head and/or 83mm it'd be even nicer and still be reliable.
