I had a thread posted here on why newbies post the "Should i buy a Busa for my first ever bike?" and then just go ahead and buy the Busa anyway.

I changed my mind and deleted the whole thing. My view of is now i just don't care and me posting about it is pointless. The threads will still happen, the search function with never get used, so me having any kind of opinion about it is irrevillant.

If someone has their mind set about what bike they are going to buy, minor things like: ergonomics, performance, sound advice and comon sense,

are not going to change their minds or stop them, end of story, the squids who post questions like "should I buy a busa next year, I'm 15?" are just looking for public acceptance and some one to reassure them cause mommy probably told them it was a bad idea....

To me its all about mindset and where you are at a particular time in your life.

I remember when I 1st starting looking for a bike. A good friend of mine had a suzuki gs1100 blown out to 1250. Bike was a monster. this was back in 88/89 I was 17. I realized that, that bike was too much for my limited riding skill. About 5 years later same dude was selling a ninja zx-10( as a matter of fact the reason he was selling the gs was to buy the zx-10new.)

This time I bought the bike from him. When the zx-10 came out it was the fastest production bike, so like the gs it was a monster. The key is I had a lil more maturity and my outlook on things had grown. it is all about where you are at in life . some may be ready for a monster sooner than others, the key is can you tame it.

Well the fact that somebody even posts such a question tells me that in the back of there mind they know that they shouldn't buy it.

I think you are wrong.

Busa was my first bike, and while I never posted that quetion, mainly because I wasnt even aware of such a website like this existed,I never asked anybody what they thought because i didnt care,I knew what I wanted.I think people ask that question is because they hear alot of things, some true some not true.yeah its a fast bike, but not much fater then a 1k and just as easily hurt yourself on a 600 which alot of people consider to be wheelie machines, theres a mystique about the busa that makes some people affraid, until you ride one.

I dont knock anybody for posting that question, atleast they have come as far as this website to do a litle research before buying, more then I did.

im was a newb to the sport bike world on my busa i mean after riding a 1k gsxr i think i would be much more dangerous on that cause its just nasty front end light, i knew the busa was a beast but even though my friend thought i was retarded for buying it i still stand by my decision, i know all bikes are dangerous and in the wrong mindset i could kill my self on a 600 and but like your title even this thought is beating a dead horse maybe all newbs to the sight should be forced to read a should i buy a busa for a first bike and whats a tre page before they can post

motorcycling needs to start just like the attached picture, in my opinion, learning in a safe controlled environmentand then later on applying the skills aquired to the incredibly dangerous world of street riding, is not only safer, but more conducive to a rider with safer lifelong riding habits. Just my 2c.

Me personally, I am tired of reading and hearing about riders killed or hurt or running from the police. When one learns to ride within their abilities and anticipate trouble before it happens, everyone is safer.

+1...i realize that everyone doesn't have the same opportunities growing up but you don't see pilots starting out in fighter planes, future truck drivers getting their learners permit at 15 with a 53 foot trailer attached to the back of the car, or race car drivers starting their careers at the Indy 500...it is about a progression of skill level...i know there are those that successfully begin on a Busa or 13.5 and don't kill themselves in the first 30 days but i would bet the numbers are there to support this theory if you knew how many tip-overs, drops, and other little mistakes are made by newbies vs. experienced riders...that is a very expensive way to learn!! btw, for all who buy a Busa as a first bike, i sincerely hope you enjoy your new ride and don't hurt yourself, anyone else, or your new bike

Heck I bet there would be a slight learning curve if you went from your Busa to a 600. I rode my friends 750 one day and it surprised me on how quick it accelerated and how light the front end was. My busa being heavier allowed me to twist the right wrist harder than a lighter bike and keep the front end under control. And if your a taller rider your choices get even narrower because then comfort comes in to the equation. Then factor in the riders weight and they get narrower still. I don't think any rider over 6'3 and a certain weight would be comfortable on the liter bikes for extended periods of time other than at the track.

People are gonna do what they want to but they still feel better about it if they can get others approval.

I been saying this over and over, I think it's not so much the point of caring about skill which doesn't really matter cause if u can ride smart u can ride anything but I swear I get the feeling that some of these guys probably wish they could personally vote on any busa purchase, like being voted into an elite society "sorry but the Busa round table as denied your request but you can still buy a kawi"
