Getting tired of beating the horse.

I don't care if they want to buy their own, I hate when they want to ride mine !!! My best friend don't understand WHY I won't teach his NEW wife how to ride a motorcycle....on my Busa, YEAH RIGHT !!

Just like most other things in lfe, peple lsten and then ignor the information. I have seen so many newbies on this site and the see the bikes crashed up. It is amzing to see that most get up and walk away, but the bikes don't.

I only respond to get my post count up!

Seriously, it all depends on how the post reads. Those that state that it doesn't matter what is said they are getting one are left alone. If they really care to hear the opinions then I will give a response. It's all about individual choices anyway. How they come about those choices depends on them and the argument can go both ways.

Some answers I give are strictly based on my mood at the moment. If I feel like it I may rant and tell them not to get one. Other times I may say you already made your decision so my opinion doesn't matter, or i wont even respond to the thread.

Sooner or later, adrenalin gets the best of us, and we let our machines show us just how exhilerating they can be. It's best to take this in steps, and the Busa is quite a few steps down the road of motorcycle life. GM, this orange beast is probably a few steps beyond me, but I've learned to respect and I think true respect only comes from experience. Busa for a first bike isn't necessarily dangerous, but not a good idea, in my opinion.

Well the fact that somebody even posts such a question tells me that in the back of there mind they know that they shouldn't buy it.
I think you are wrong.

Busa was my first bike, and while I never posted that quetion, mainly because I wasnt even aware of such a website like this existed,I never asked anybody what they thought because i didnt care,I knew what I wanted.I think people ask that question is because they hear alot of things, some true some not true.yeah its a fast bike, but not much fater then a 1k and just as easily hurt yourself on a 600 which alot of people consider to be wheelie machines, theres a mystique about the busa that makes some people affraid, until you ride one.

I dont knock anybody for posting that question, atleast they have come as far as this website to do a litle research before buying, more then I did.
That is assuming you consider a supersport 600-1000CC to be a good "beginner bike" and it is not... You really need to research the numbers a bit and you will find some VERY sobering facts..

Lets say your 18 year old boy/girl has never owned a bike, you want him on a Busa right?

I think encouraging a brand new rider/bike owner to such a bike under any circumstances should leave you feeling responsible for that person if they wind up on the side of the road with an armco barrier wrapped around their body...

Red05 I think it is dangerous... I ask anyone here to go ride 1000 miles without opening up the throttle.. No one buys this bike to "putt around" on :zoom:

I had a thread posted here on why newbies post the "Should i buy a Busa for my first ever bike?" and then just go ahead and buy the Busa anyway.

I changed my mind and deleted the whole thing.  My view of is now i just don't care and me posting about it is pointless. The threads will still happen, the search function with never get used, so me having any kind of opinion about it is irrevillant.
That's still goin' on? Who'da thunk it?

Some people are naturally level-headed. I'm not. If this had been my first bike, bad things would've happened to me. So, if you ask me whether it would be good for you, I err on the side of caution and say "no."

What pisses me off is the people who ask, and then get defensive when they don't like the answer. If you're going to do it, just do it, and don't **** around trying to win a forum's approval.

well,I definately dont agree with the first link you posted "should you wait until after the MSF course to  ride a bike",I took the course and there were two ppl there that never road before, yes they failed miserably, instructors commented to them that the course isnt designed to teach you how to ride but how to ride safer!!

looked at the 2nd link and its just more opinionated retoric, didnt bother to look at the other two links.

bottom line, nobody can say what is right or wrong for the masses, its an individual decision...you can join the military at 17 and fight/die for your country, you can go buy and ride any damn bike you want if your gonna ask me .goverment says your mature enought to die for your country, who the hell am I to say what kind of damn bike you ride...have at it!!

oh yeah, and I have a 17yr old,who just totalled a car for the 3rd time in 6 months, some people should just take the bus!!

It is our job as parents to teach our children the difference between right and wrong. This is where it starts. It is also our job to teach our children that there are consequences for their actions. Too many of us fail as parents, myself included. I am always trying to find a better way to teach my children and often find myself "Monday morning quarterbacking" my decisions. Would I let my child ride a Hayabusa as their first bike? Do I really need to answer something so obvious?
