You can just turn the TRE function off and use it as a gear indicator

it's cool. 2 won't work in my opinion. it'll be under your grips. 1 should be ok. find a thin piece of aluminum. I was gonna use a thermostat mount. (walmart brand)

theres a small button on the bottom to change maps or turn it off. why would you want it off?

Because I had a "Smart" TRE on Guinevere. I took it off and gave it to someone here on the board. I could see no difference in having it on or off except a smoother idle. After I adj the TB and loaded the map from PowerCommander for my mods, my bike idles rock steady at 1150 and purrs as smooth as a kitten. Even in first gear at slow speeds she is smooth and steady.

first thing I noticed was a faster throttle. Does that make sense. Quicker response. No lag. I haven't opened her up yet, so I can't comment on the higher bands.

the smallest i seen is the hks gear indicator. the display is about the size of a dime. with a cord going back to the tre module. it could be mounted about anywhere.

Any one have a link to this HKS gear indicator? I would like to see if I can get a really small one to sink in to the cluster!
And is there any lag time for it to change indicated gear position?

I'd like to know that too. I just don't have the room for that big of an indicator and don't want the TRE . How bad is the lag time on the Accumen?

Haven't messed with one, but it should be easy to go to radio shack and change your color. Haven't looked into it.
