Hey Man, did you take the Battery out of the bike? or leave it?

Just wondering, I read somewhere that it's a good idea to remove the battery just in case it leaks...  dunno No personal experiance just a thought.

I remember Omaha Winters, and with all the salt and crud on the roads, I don't blame you for perking her.
Sorry to hear that you had to put her to bed so early.

You might want to rethink the battery. I'm not sure if it will be a problem or not but a charging battery emits gasses. With the cover on it the gasses may collect around the big and cause damage.

Hey, Sgt, how do you like that PUIG windscreen?  I've got one on the way is why I'm asking.  Yeah, if you put her to sleep how are you going to do any mods to her?
Yeah, I like the Puig alot. I've had Zero Grav products before and they're probably better in the optics department (that is to say, they cause less distortion when looking through the screen), but the Puig fits better and is thicker. Besides, how often do you really look through the screen anyway? (I still peer over, not through, the screen on runs to the big end.)

Additional modding? After spending way too much time and money on several of my past bikes, I've decided to leave this one largely stock. I did add a 3/4" Genmar riser and a Puig DB right after I bought it. Both cheap, both added alot to the bike's utility.

The bike needs no more power IMO, so full exhaust sytems and Power Commanders are out for me. And as far as comfort goes, well, I did ride it from Omaha to Estes Park, CO recently and did so with relative ease (~600 miles one way in 8.5 hours).

The only thing that I'm toying with adding over the winter is a set of stainless Galfer brake lines for the front. Once used to stainless lines, OEM rubber sucks pretty bad. Other than that, the bike is fine as is.

Man, I remember those Omaha winters. I'd pack her up too...just too much crud on the roads...and the salt...fuget about it.

I'm gonna try to keep mine going through the winter here...seems we always have more sunshine and dry roads than snow...we'll see. If it gets to ugly I'll bundle her up and put her to bed..

Nice ride by the way....
