THE LAMB'S DA' MAN !!!!!!

BTW, I enjoyed the heck out of the ORG visit.  Picked up some ideas like..........NOT RIDING FIVE MILES WITH MY BLINKER ON.......darn blood sugar, AND got my Metzelers on the way, received my +1" dogbones (thanks Tom).....and a couple of other things in the works......

Also did I mention THE LAMB'S DA' MAN

(pure_ego @ Apr. 26 2007,21:08) when you raised the rear what did you do for the front?

was there a noticible improvement in cornering after you did it?

quicker turn in?  more ground clearence.. etc?
And yes, by the way.

Better handling with a quicker turn in.  Ground clearance has always seemed pretty good; suspension is set up pretty stiff.

I would think with a re-spring for the front forks to compensate for the weight shift would solve the nose diving... the front springs are a bit light for bigger riders anyway... even before you change the geometry.

plus changing the top clamp to even it back out it would improve more dramatically one would think.

I have debated raising it for years.  Just never think about it during riding season for some reason.

as far as ground clearence....  for normal road riding it probably wouldn't be (shouldn't be if anybody has any sense)  but I've done a few track days on it and it does become a problem then.

notice how high the rear brake lever is...

it kept grinding it off when it I had it in the right position and I am not positive that it didn't cause the lowside I had in 04.

My theory (lost rear... wasn't pushing it all that hard, nothing found in road that could have caused it) is that the rear brake pedal hit the pavement and acted as a lever to take the weight off the rear and ... zip.. gone.

anyway.. thanks for the info. Bike looks good.

Wow, incredible photo of you leaning!

I think that I agree, new front springs would be a good idea. My front end dives, but not too badly I must say. Just a note, I’ve change all of my levers (gear shifter, rear brake, front brake on handle, clutch on handle) to compensate for the change. Actually I changed all the levers shortly after getting the Busa even before the rear lift. It’s a quick easy alteration that really affects the way the bike feels (you‘ve probably already done this). Check the rear brake light setting after this adjustment. I’ve seen brake lights stay on constantly after this change.

As far as bottoming out goes, are your settings stiff enough? I weight over 245lbs and have never bottomed it while going into turns with heavy braking. Just food for thought. Thanks for the photo comments!

The bike is set up fairly firm.. front is still a bit squishier than I'd like.. but I'm too cheap to spring for the new springs out there since I got a diff bike to use at trackdays.

I'm not quite as big as you.. around 200 with gear I suppose.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean about changing the levers and such... are you talking about just adjusting them?

If thats what you mean.. yeah.. the clutch/fr brake lever needed to be rotated down on the clip ons... and I adjusted the trans lever down a bit so i can get to it comfortably with the balls of my feet on the pegs..

the rear lever was down so that I could use it the same way... but it kept grinding so I had to put it up quite a bit for track days/very spirited riding. It's back where it belongs now as the busa only hauls me and the wife aroudn occasionally.

yeah the rear brake switch is kinda tricky to get right.

Sorry, you got it, adjusted the levers.

Seemed to make a big difference. I figured that you already did that.

Your set-up sounds pretty good. New springs for me is a bit $$$ for now, too!
