Good helmet with the least noise

Could anyone tell me of a helmet that is not so noisy ? I got a cheap helmet just to get home with the bike and to use for a passanger
but now I want a good helmet that is as quiet
as possible.

Shoei for quiet.
Arai RX7-RIII for ventilation.

Any helmet with vents get louder when the venta are open.

My Shoei X-9 is very quiet, but the vent system doesn't hold a candle to the Arai RX7.

I would pick the Arai, but that is only one persons opinion. You must buy what fits, Arai makes two type of shells for two differant head shapes. A Quantim and a RX7 fit a lot differant. Aria also has removeable liners and differant size pads to customize a fit.

Shoei seems to have a higher quality faceshield and their iridium seems a little tougher than the Arai's.

cut through the chase and use earplugs......................Kawabuser is right the arai rx7 is the better helmet. ive owned both top of the line shoei and arai. I use the arai rx7...............

I've had Bell and Shoei (had both stolen), but what I went with this time is the Nolan N100 Trend Metallic Black. It matches the Black/Grey Busa perfectly (which is good because that's what I have). The Nolan has the lift-up chin bar which is real nice if you wear glasses. It also has top and chin vents which seem to work pretty good. And I also always were earplugs, makes the ride that much more enjoyable.

If you are broke after buying your busa, but still want a good snell rated helmet, check out the HJC LT12 or CL12 (LT is lighter, but CL has a tricker "screwless" shield system). For 2000 they will be making a LT14 (14 front vents!) Extremely light! and will cost around $400 cdn.
HJC is a very generous fit, like Shoei, but again, fit is everything, don't but it because it looks cool or has neat features, FIT FIT FIT!

I see a lot of good input on helmets but even the most expensive helmet won't be enough when it comes to possible damage to hearing due to wind noise. Ear plugs are a must especially at the speeds many of us do on the Busa. I've found that earplugs also help to remove distractions that interfere with complete concentration needed for extracting more out of the Busa. I haven't been able to extract anywhere near the full potential of the Busa but I'm always working on it. :)

I'm currently using the Arai Quantum E, and it's a great helmet if it fits your head type. It's supposedly quieter than some helmets, but I'd definitely second, third any advice to wear earplugs.

On any ride for an hour or more causes my right ear to hurt. At first I thought it might be the helmet, but after trying plugs for a run through the hills, I found my ear didn't hurt at all.

Though the Quantum E is great, I finally tried on an RX7RR3. Oh yes, that's on the Xmas wish list now. The padding seemed to fit perfectly, and there's a bit more room from my nose to the guard. I'd have likely bought that the first time, if I could have afforded it then of course.

Ditto on the Quantum. I've been riding and racing with Shoei's forever but my new Arai fits better and is quieter. Shoei's also seem to fit better on round heads where Arai's seem to be made for elongated heads (me). The baseball sized "dot" on my forhead has gone away forever (woo-hoo!).

Go to MCNEWS.com and move down till you see the title, high end helmets comparison. This should help you with your decision, they compare weight, aerodynamics, comfort, price, noise reduction, view & ventilation.I went with the arai quantum, and didn't go wrong.
