LOL, you got that right. There is a pic though a couple replies up...

I've got 1k miles on her already. We went yesterday, and my friend with a V-Rod, who is constantly ribbing me that "he hasn't seen the busa do squat", started in again. It's all in good fun; we both know he's joking. There's a 5 mile stretch of arrow straight, no side road highway on the way back, and here comes Andy. I didn't top out Daisy, chickened at 170 when visions of deer played with my mind, but Andy was satisfied.

Daisy also did her first power wheelie yesterday, 9500rpm 3/4 throttle shift to 2nd, carried the front about 3" for about 50 feet, and carried my permagrin for the rest of the day.

This bike has already far out-handled my cruiser, and I've not yet leaned on her...

Welcome and congrats on the new bike. She sure is beautiful. I am also digging the car in your avatar, what year is it,55,56? Is it yours? My loves are muscle cars and sport bikes, the busa mainly of course. Enjoy the ride and don't forget the gear.
Take Care Friend...

I picked up my 06 black Friday afternoon, and already have 208 miles and a slight chain adjustment under my wheels.

I kinda followed the motorman break-in; leaned on it but kept the rpms under check for the first 25 miles, then just rode it normally trying to keep the rings loaded all day yesterday. The mileage comp shows 37.8 average so far; not bad for a tight new engine in my book. Running smooth and strong. Well, gotta go ride some more then change the oil, pics probably tonight... I'm stoked
I plan on using the motorman method myself to seat the rings properly. How often do you plan on changing the oil w/ in the first 2000 miles?

Also, what tools are involved with a chain adjustment? Special tools or basic tool box set? Sounds like everybody does it and I am one who enjoys learning and doing myself.

Thx all.

LA,
That's a 57 pro-street Chevy in the background. My business partner and I are big into drag racing. The one we're now racing while painting the newest has a 648, 2 stage nitrous engine and 5-speed Lenco, and we've gone 4.49/162 1/8th mile. It's impressive to see a 3000lb car leave on a 1.08 60ft.

Over,
I changed the oil at 380 miles, will do again at 1500, and will go to Amsoil at 3000, and change at every 3000. Overkill, but cheap insurance. The chain is simple to adjust, instructions are in the owner's manual. I've been lubing it every 350 miles or so, and just did the 1000 mile clean/lube today. Daisy's chain is lookin' schweet!
