Over here in the UK we have Sky TV, which is satellite television.
We pay £11.25p a month extra so my daughter has Sky in her room.

My Daughters Sky box went wrong before Christmas so I called up Sky to find out about a repair.
They said it would be free to fix.
Phoned up today and they said it would be £65 for an engineer to come out and install a reconditioned box.
Then as I had been a customer for 7 years they would do it for £30.

As my daughter was not in I said I would just cancel the £11.25p a month and let my Daughter make up her own mind about the repair.
Then the put me through to a very nice lady and she worked out a deal for me.

Got a brand new box and a engineer to fix it up for £20.
A saving of £289.
My Daughter is going to be so pleased when she comes in.

It's amazing that when you threaten to cancel they change their tune so quickly?

I cancelled my Cable TV service and bought a Digital Antenna - get about 30 channels at ZERO cost per month.
Sure not as many as you I'm sure - But during the summertime I'd much rather be riding than watch TV that I really don't NEED.

Ever notice to BEGIN service, its always what are you doing now? we can be there. but then so do any repairs, its between now and your death? Lordy

My Daughter was so pleased.
She's getting a 2TB sky box, so she can record so much on it as well.
She kept filling up her old box with recordings.
With the new box she can save up to 350 hours of HD TV or 1180 hours of standard TV, and of course a mixture of both of them.
It's also got WI-FI so she can download films and series she might have missed for free.
