yeah, the doc told me a story about the guys who came back with two black baseballs in his shorts because he decided to go back to the gym and do squats two days later...(BlueHaya @ Sep. 07 2007,14:51) I did it the first of the year with only the local. I took the pain pills and the refill quickly. My left cord retracted before he worked on it and he had to dig and pry to pull it back down. Needless to say my left side was sore for a while. As you said, it felt like someone kicked me on the left side only for about 3 weeks. It took me about 4 weeks to loose all soreness.
Make sure you do the follow up visits until you get the all clear or you could have a little surprise.
And no matter how good you feel do not pick up anything heavy for a little while....unless you just want to see how big they can swell.
I'm doing fine, but these drugs are making me so damn sleepy.

When I had mine done about 10 yrs ago, I drove myself there and back home. I went out that night and went to work the next day.
Decided it would be less "invasive" if I got the job done verses the wife. Walked in, dropped the shorts, tape your tool to your leg, a little numbing down there, small cut, pull the cords, staple the tubes, cut 'em, patch me up and I left. Didn't seem to take too long. It was weird having a guy fiddling with yer part's with a knife though.
It was also a little wierd laying on a table bare-azz with my legs spread having a conversation with the nurse and doctor. Made me more sympathetic to what women go through at the gynecologist.
Doctor said, go buy yourself a bag of frozen peas and sit in front of a TV with the peas on the important parts for a while. No hard exercise.
Afterward, make sure the pipes are cleaned out throughly before you run the road without protection. There are still troopers in the pipes for a while.

lol...if you really want to know (TMI), yes I shave...and the nurse was like "Ok, guess we'll just skip that part".(BlueHaya @ Sep. 08 2007,10:36) ...oh, I forgot to ask...did the nurse shave you?
For you that have had it done...it is normal to get some bruising around the stitches? I got bored today so I stripped, clean and retrofitted a few old rifles...and noticed when I got up I was really tender. Guess I should stay on the recliner for the rest of the day.

this was my reasoning also. But I have two girls and really want a boy, but figured why risk it.
For over ten years I was told I would never had children due to some problem. Well then I meet my wife (fertile myrtle), everything changes...nope, my 50cal reduced to blanks and maybe the occasional tracer...lol
