Got Peppered Yesterday....

Took a certification course for Monadnock and PPCI pepper spray. Part of the certification was gettin balsted in the eyes with a 1million SHU rating spray....

To say the least, it was quite the experience. Just curious as to how many other people here have had the opportunity to get blasted in the face with pepper and their experiences with it.

For myself, I'd say that it's something I would not gladly partake in again...not trying to say I'm a wuss or something, but I'm not that partial to gettin my eyes blasted with the damn shid. Anyone else have a different experience?

That brings back some painful memories. Back in my MP days we got blasted and had to fight through an instructor padded from head to toe. It's been several years but I remember the feeling like there were tiny shards of glass in my eyes and it was not quite as easy to breath. Even after flushing my eyes it took awhile before my eyes were feeling better. It was like going to the gas chamber but worse.....But that is a hole nother story.......

Lol...I hear ya, bro. I've tried tasing myself before. Was a dumbass kid that got his hands on a commercial strength taser...got myself in the hand and nearly peed myself.

As for the OC....I don't think I'd shoot them, (unless I had to), but I would definitely beat the snot outta them with the retractable.

But at least the taser effects are only temp...

OC burn your ass for a good hour...and that's with proper Decon. Shid'll burn like hell on a cat's ass if you don't decon right...

I guess I'm one of the few folks who don't get floored by OC. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's hot stuff and all, but for me, well, I'll take a peppering over that damned Taser any day of the week.

I had my pepperspray class on video. Was 50 minutes before I could open my eyes after bein' sprayed. It absolutely felt like someone poured gasoline on my face and lit it for a good two hours. Had snot stringin' past my knees for a good 30 minutes. Felt like I couldn't breath in without forcin' it for several minutes. The poop burned just as bad that night when I showered and it rinsed from my hair down my neck and chest. Burned during the next morning's shower as well. If anyone pulls pepperspray out on me they'd better make sure I don't have a gun first. I will NOT be sprayed with that poop again if I cna prevent it, no matter what means I have to use to prevent it.

The taser lasted 5 seconds and was over. Pain was comparable to a tattoo needle buzzin' on me. Had two little burns from the probes. They itched the next day. I'll take the taser, thank you.

Slef-inflicted? Dayum...our instructor had the stream kind. He fired off a test shot to demonstrate the spray, and I was like what the....the heck with this shid.

I got a full stream right in the eye...and some on my face. Coulda sworn I felt my eyelids bubbling....

I've never gotten pepper sprayed but I did get a face full of paint thinner once. That sucked big time. I was talking to a guy while he was cleaning his paint gun, He flipped the gun just as he was takeing the lid off and shot the load of thinner right at me. I got my eyes closed just as it hit but it still got me a little. However my glasses were never as clean as they were afterward.

Never been sprayed or shocked (does 440V's count

), but I can say that there's nothing funnier than watching people exit a teargas chamber. Everyone is totally helpless with tears and snot everywhere.

You guys are nuts, but I understand it's all part of training.
