Motorcyclist may 2000 issue. Just another bike that will 'SPANK' a ZX-12 or anyones 900/1000 bike.
ETA spring 2001
Nothing like Suzuki's R&D

BTW: NO mention of a ZX-12 anywhere in the issue, Kaw is still trying to get a good one out of the Crate.

This will make my garage complete...can't wait till it drops next year. never too early for a deposit for I am sure as time comes to play it will surly sell out.

But WAIT!!!

Won't it's speed be RESTRICTED, like the poor, poor ZX-12??? Oh, those mean European politicians!!! :(

My heart bleeds purple panther p i s s....

That's correct Jeff, the GSXR-1000 will compete directly with the R1, ZX-9 and 929. Those bikes are a current class unto themselves, and Suzuki isn't really in the game there right now. The Busa and the ZX-12 are kind of their own separate class, although you could stretch it by including the XX and the ZX-11. But the literbikes are between 750 supersport bikes and the "ultimate sports". It looks like Suzuki is going to enter the class in a big way.

2001 GSXR1?00, how about 370lb's and equals the 1/4 mile time of the Busa.

Looks like the future is brighter in the land of Suzuki........

ZX WHO? No wonder the ZX12 motor is moving into the ZRX12 Lawson Replica, wonder if they are going to steal 6th gear like they did with the current ZX11 based motor.....

The new 1000 would share the same frame as the 2k GSXR750 and the new GSXR600. It would be in a different class than the Busa.

The top speed issue has been set, it's the Busa. However a machine with this type of handling, weight, and hp advantage would be welcomed in my garage.

hey mr. bear thats an idea. it would be sort of like a hopped up goldwing, if they add reverse i just might buy one.
