Well, the article speculates 160 Crankshaft hp. That's possible, which might give 145 at the rear wheel, if the motor is really a screamer. Those are believable power numbers, if you figure that the current GSXR-750 puts 123 hp to the rear wheel, which it does.

But you have to pay for it somewhere. The GSXR-750 goes about 420 lbs. wet with a full tank, according to our local truck scale. The same scale has C. Dolan's ZX-12 at 550 fully fueled, and my '99 Busa at 560 (all our bikes are Ca. version). If the GSXR-1000 comes in under 430 wet, that would be something. But 145 rwph, I could believe.
