GXR1100 vs. Hayabusa

In terms of handling only, which bike do you guy think performs better and why? The old GXSR 1100's or the Hayabusa? Is it fair to say that the 1100's were more racier and hard edged?

I own both.. And honestly I can't wait untill I sell my 1100, I never want to ride it! Once my busa is dialed in (suspension) I can't think of another bike I would want to ride. The busa is awesome, the more you ride the easier it gets, and the overall power range is unbelieveable.

Sell your 1100 for a busa NOW! you won't regret it! Plus the busa is 10 times more comfortable.

I just sold my '93 gsxr1100 after putting 20K miles on it in two years and bought a 2000 bl/slvr BUSA. I can say for sure that the 1100 is a "sportier" bike to ride. Its more hard edged and therefore better/more precise in the corners. (in my opinion)
The gsxr1100 is not nearly as civilized as the Hayabusa. The 1100 always made my wrists/hands fall asleep from the constant pressure of the forward lean and the buzz of the motor. The seat was so uncomfortable that I had to send it to sargent cycles in Fla. to be rebuilt.
The Hayabusa has very little vibration, great seats, good suspension and it's fast as hell. I thought the 1100 was fast but this bike is CRAZY!
I think of the hayabusa as more of a grown ups toy (Im a 33 year old guy). The harder edged sportbikes (like the gsxr1100,750,600) are for the younger wanna-bees who don't mind the many short comings that a single minded sport machine has to offer.

The Busa basically has a GSXR frame. Peel off the bodywork and gas tank, and you see a monster Gixxer. I never owned a GSXR-1100; my old bike, which I bought new, was an ancient '82 GS1100E. It and the Busa are totally different machines.

But functionally, the difference between a GS1100E, a GSXR-1100, OR a Busa; VS a real track bike I.E. an R6, R1, GSXR-750, or 929RR, is 100+ lbs. of weight. You're talking about over-500 lb. bikes VS. under-400 lb. bikes. I love the big bikes, they are loads of fun on the highway. But if you want a real track bike, you can't hide the weight. It's simple physics.

the busa is muchs better then the gsx1100rw,I owned a ,94 and a ,95 gsx1100rw ,I now go muchs faster true the same corners, and the busa is ofcourse worlds faster and handles muchs better then a gsxr ,but wen you look at the two bikes you think that the gsxr handles better ,believe me its not ,at that time when I was riding with my friend who owns a thunder ace, he weighs only 75 kg,I weight 110 kg at topspeeds were the same ,but now I cane do it in fourth gear ,we are not riding now a days muchs ,how can that be?hehehe!!

take care an buy a busa [when you have the money for it ]

jan :)

I have been riding bikes for many years and the last time I rode a bike that made me hard was the 1992 GSXR1100. I then bought one!! I have not been impressed with anything that Suzuki has put out since then,I did not and still does not make since why they had such a beutiful bike and stopped R&D after two years production. Then last year I rode the Hayabusa.Actually the first time I rode one was a custormers bike that I had worked on and his freind started talking trash so he wanted me to street race his freind.I did and I came back with a hard on!!! I then waited till 2000 to buy one. This bike is awesome! I could only ask for one more thing alittle less weight and more of a racer oreinted feel and look.Dont get me wrong the bike is beautiful! I just hope i dont end up trading the thing in next year for a redesighned more powereful lighter Hyabusa.
