HAYABUSA vs. ZX12...The saga continues

Hey Supertuner. Thanks for the mature and thoughtful analysis of the two bikes. That's so rare around these forums it's worth a comment.

It would be nice to see an overlaid dyno chart of the two bikes. I'm especially interested in the torque curves.

When we have our Pro Stock bike running, we
test at NED in New Hampshire from time to time. I also support the motorcycle effort there that Ed Doherty is so devotedly committed to. Trying to complete a new Hayabusa engined NHRA Pro Stocker now, but will not be ready to debut before next year.
Hope to meet you one day. Freddie Klies/ECP

Nitro...my new bike is not finished and probably won't be till next season at the earliest, so no...I am not actually racing. I am however supporting the race with gift certificates for both the bikes and the snowmobiles that will be competing there as well as helping my customers. We will be racing 3 or 4 Hayabusas and at least 1 ZX12
all owned by different people. I over see their tuning and help them to go fast. We are
having big gains in finding some very elusive horsepower and we hope to be able to put down some good runs. Every one of these bikes are stock internally with ultra fine tuning and little tricks done from the outside only.
Lyle..thanks for the compliment. I merely want to report what our experiences are with absolutely no "loyalty" to either bike. Peace...Freddie

Motorhead,

Sorry for the late reply but I couldnt get in touch with the guy until today. He said that his head did go to C&W. I didnt get all the details but he went back with stainless valves instead of the titanium he had first go round. He also made a signifigant drop in cam lift and duration.

YEA I TALKED TO CARL JR AND SR IN COLUMBUS AND HE TOLD ME ABOUT SOME WILD AND OUTRAGIOUS LIFT.LIKE 480 OR SOMETHING UNGODLY.IS IT FIXED NOW?

So far so good. I think he lost power though. We will soon see when he goes to the track or dyno. He has only had it back about a week though.

Todd... Thanx. The charts are educational. Nine grand RPM seems to be the turning point.
