Hard to start

I have the same problem...sucker left me stranded tonight had to trailor it home. got home hooked up the battery tender, waited an hour and she fired off. Let her run for 5 mins. Shut it off, no start again. I'm limiting my ride to no stops or turn offs til I get this fixed

spark, fuel, and compression. after reading your thread, i have to ask how many miles are on the motor?

i would pull the plugs, and inspect them. look for any irregularities. while they are out do a compression test.

high mileage, valves too tight?

as to the alternator, it is possible to have diodes that have gone south, and still charge. not as efficient as it should be, but still producing voltage.

one step at a time, crossing off variables.
