I just read a thread here that mentioned HD's and a thought clicked in my noggin'.

A few weeks ago I went to the track, where there's an announcer there who is always cracking corny jokes.

Anyways, this HD lined up and ran down the strip.

The announcer comes on and says:

"Hey guys, if you noticed some of the HD's running down the track they never pick their feet up. That's because of one of 2 things. Either 1, they have an air-shifter or 2, the rest of the gears don't work."

First race of the season way back in April,I'm on the left,my friend Shannon delt with alot of flack until the end of the nite. 7.50's all day long/never raced on a strip until this nite.

OH THE HUMANITY ! SHAME ON YOU JOHN!
Shame on me is right! Shannon turned out to be a real 'lumberjack', because of alot of comments by the 'kids' on their new bikes,he became VERY focused on being consistant. 'Cutting the tree down' as he called it,along with 7.50-7.569's to the point I hated to stage against him. If I wasn't 110% A game,I was in the buy-back round more times than I care to admitt. Truely, a very tough competitor

1/8th or 1/4 mile?
In the 1/8th,even I had some comments about how long the the iron beast would last.Given the way he rode it,many of us though it was going to be a short season for Shannon.Besides breaking his chain adjusters twice on the 1-2 shift,it really held up great. I always told him to paint it green and yellow, refering to it as a souped up John Deere.

I saw a HD V-Rod run high 9's in the 1/4 mile at the LVMS only a couple months ago, I was really surprised and it looked sweet.
