I have read where the ZX12 has electro plated aluminum bored block that is sleeveless to save weight which means no big bore piston kits for the bike.Has anyone else heard this?

I heard that's how they built it. I don't know why you couldn't convert it to a sleeved block, I know LA Billet will make a chromoly sleeve for anything you want, it's just a matter of good machining, sweating in the sleeve. You'd loose a little of the weight advantage though. It's a better cylinder, in my opinion.

Is there any reason that you can't do this? My knowledge of Kawasaki (or ant other bike engine for that matter) engines is poor at best. This is a common fix in any thing else though.

Gixxer,
That is true but are you sure it means you cannot put a big bore kit in? This would make no sense since Kawasaki knows this bike will be drag raced. What happens if you do damage to a cylinder wall to the point where honing will not clean it up? Will Kawasaki force you to buy a new block.....I can't see that.I hope not.Does anyone know more about this?
