Hayabusa for an old guy??

My old mate and truly one of the best riders I have personally ever known in all my many years riding motorcycles . Big Al is 62 and is regularly sighted up top end of Australia NT Darwin enjoying his stock Busa on the street and 1/4 mile . He is a good size to tuck in on the bike and weighs 70kg fully suited , and currently runs in the 9.4's . He is this years streetbike champ , and both he and his mate Rappy ( mod bike champ Gixxer 1K ) are team 'section 8 '.

You're at a great age to have an awesome bike like the Busa

I'm 50+, have only been riding for 2+ years. Bought a '02 Busa after riding a 800cc cruiser for a year.

From forums, youtube and used "bang for the buck," I knew a Busa was the sportsbike for me. I love the look, the power and the multitudes of aftermarket parts. (tons of aftermarket comfort part available)

I took a track day course with California Superbike School, after buying my Busa, to learn how to ride fast properly. It was time and money well spent !!!!! My understanding of a motorcycles mechanics, my riding vision and riding skills increased 1000 fold. I would have never gotten that kind of experience riding on public roads.

Hold on with your legs, learn the bike at your own pace & have fun !!!

Smart idea to take the course, when I was instructing courses, I'd sometimes get an "older" guy who hasn't ridden in years and just wanted to refresh themselves.

That's awesome @bluebusa13204; how long have you had your Busa ? ... how long have you been riding ? ... what modifications have you done ? ... where do you ride ? ... could we ever meet up ? ... I've got so many questions to ask ... not all about riding
>>>well I have not had mine very long. Plus I live outside the usa and only get back maybe twice a year; June/July and Sep. When I'm back I am either in Syracuse or Endicott, NY..........to visit family.

Yeah , I guess old age and better judgement mean little and are easily forgotten eh Johnnie , once you got the right road in front of you , and your right wrist starts smacking that Busa throttle , burying the needle deep into the red through some gears , and shoving you fast forward at a respectable rate of knotts !!:)

I am 47, have diabetes for 22 years now. I will ride bikes until I can. At least will have great memories once it will be finish for me. Life is measured by quality not by length. So gentleman, start your engines :)

be careful not to have low glucose before driving, and have candies and biscuits.
I'm a diabetes specialist in a pharmaceutical company here in Greece

Thanks for advice! I am dealing with it 22 years on insulin so I stick to all measures to keep me safe. I am use to it.
Best regards from currently snowy Bosnia :)

Υou live with diabetes and surely you know a lot more of me. when planning to make a big trip I will think of reducing the insulin units I will make before I start.

I admire you living with it and you continue to live naturally. I wish you the best!
