Hayabusa-gixxer mod

Hi guys
first post here so I thought I'd post a few pics of the bike, (hope they come out ). The bike is an 08 busa with a 07 gixxer rear end which I modified to fit. No tubular frame just the stock gixxer sub frame and plastic. I also fitted gixxer front forks and controls to the bike. Gives me a better feel for the bike under hard riding conditions. I think it came out looking ok, plus the weight saving was real nice too. I'm probably going to sell the bike in the very near future but thought some of you might find it of interest.
Hope you all have a great and safe riding season.

Nice job, Looks great! What parts did you need to do the tall? A complete tail from a gsxr1000?

Thanks,
Yes, I used the complete sub-frame off the gixxer. Found the parts on line for a couple of hundred bucks. Had to also make a custom brace to ensure a solid fix. I own my own machine shop so that helps:thumbsup:

Man i like that alot!!!!!! and im jealouse :alcoholic:4 that you got your own shop to do the work...but i bet it looks clean going down the highway

extra nice, is there a way u can share pics of the subframe, or pics of it without the fairings on it if u can?

thanks alot man, first time i seen this mod in a magazine at the time i didnt like it but it really looks good, u did a great job, i wanna do it to mine, do u plan to lower urs?

The one thing I never liked about the GENII was the rear-end and you fixed it; great job

NICHOLAS,
No, I won't be lowering the bike. As I road-raced for many years my style of riding, (even though I'm older now) is still the same. I still love to throw it on it's side and carve the corners. Lowering the bike, even though it looks cool as hell would mean less lean angle and expensive parts being dragged and damaged.

k, yea mine is lowered 2 inches its alot more comfortable. i still can get it pretty low but its more work,

It's a very clean job, but not my style. Part of the reason I enjoy riding the busa is the comfy seat. I'm not sure about gixxers, but my Yamaha's seat wasn't comfy at all. But I can appreciate the bike.

gixer thousand front end hey? did nyou use the standard yokes or gsxr yokes? could you take a few pics of the yokes and clip ons etc,i would love to know how they look close up. nice job and keep up the hard work.

You have to use the busa steering head assembly as the gixxer steering stem is different. The top cover and upper triple brace can be used in the stock busa form but the bottom of the tree had to be machined out 2mm or about .o8o I believe. The gixxer clip ons will not work because they mount under the upper triple clamp. This makes the bars interfere with the plastic frame covers. Trust me I tried every which way to make it functional:banghead: and look decent but too much work involved so decided to stay with the busa bars.
