welcome , my 99 has never overheated on me, it has 25k, have been in some traffic jams but not that long, i think its a good price if you can get it for 5k, there are lots of bikes on here with will over 34000 miles still running great, good luck

I've got a 2000 that got pretty hot (hot enough for the light to come on) in 85-90 F weather when we're in stop and go traffic. Engine Ice fixed the problem right up.

Has the starter been replaced? The '02's had starter issues.

My bike has never overheated, even with just straight water in it.

I'd keep looking around if I were you.
