Hi Lastmanstanding I'm also a first time member of the Hayabusa forum, I can truly understand your dilemma as I am about to change my '04 R1 for an '05 Busa on Wednesday. I haven't even ridden a Busa yet, but after reading so many favourable reviews on them I have gone ahead and bought one. God, I hope I've done the right thing. I really had to change the R1 as my Mrs moaned so much about the lack of rear seat comfort that I had to relent and find another superbike - but what? I didn't want to compromise on performance but I had to find something to keep her soft ass happy! After reading all the reviews and bike mags I just had to go for the Busa. I'll let y'all know how I get on.
Steve

Thanks Doodoggy, The day has finally arrived...... I went to pick up my Busa today with a heavy heart coz I didn't want to lose my R1. But, wahaaaaaaay,what a fantastic bike! :-}
After clearing the town and opening her up into the first quiet road with some corners thrown in, all memories of the R1 disappeared into the dust!
Ok, it wasn't quite as sharp as the R1 - Remembering I've got to learn the Busas' limits yet, but I found it totally stable, easy to handle with no nasty surprises. But God, the acceleration from such low revs is astonishing - Forget all that gear changing to get the best of the R1, gimme torque anytime.
Anyone else considering a Busa - Do not hesitate, you won't regret it!
Also, guess what - SHE likes it aswell !
See Y'all.
Steve
