Ok, so, let me paint the picture for ya...

Its This happened a few days ago, as it was one of the first days Houston has not seen rain. Im gettin out for a nice quiet ride to grandma's house, bout 25 miles down the road...

Speed limit on the road im currently traveling is 50mph, im doing 55. Here this rumbling (not my stomach, even though i am at this point imagining grandma's cooking, the reason for the trip). Look in my mirror just in time to catch a glimpse of a harley soft tail FLYING by me and an extreme rate!

He kinda starled me at first cause he made sure to give a nice "twist" of the throttle when he rolled bu just to say "HEY, Im comin thru!!!"

We travel up another quarter of a mile, he's slowed down in right lane gettin ready to merge onto major highway via exit on the right. He's tailgating this chevy pickup BIGTIME and at this point im playin out the possible scenarios in my head...

Well, then it becomes a reality. He fails to see the car in front of the truck making a right turn onto a side street BEFORE the ramp, truck is braking evenly and HD has to lock em up! (rider is wearing typical harley gear for a texas summer day.....NADA!!)

I see the tail go left, go right and smoke start pouring out like the cat was doin a rollin burnout!! SOMEHOW he kept the bike upright and out of the a$$ end of that pickup.

Well, he passes the truck ON THE ON-RAMP, gets in front of her CUTTING HER OFF, and the HD slams on the brakes!! Slows to bout 10mph on the ramp, almost causing the truck now to rear end his bike, and precedes to give the little old lady the Finger and throttle's outta there.

...i made it to granny's and had some awesome roast and potatoes and a nice story to tell the grand folkes!!

Interesting. Perhaps the case of "Motorcycle riding as therapy" is not as effective on a scary HD as it is on a nice stable Busa? I know I feel pretty calm most of the time as a result of riding. Maybe he should lay off the HD and take up Prozac?

Do you find that HD/cruiser riders give you the courtesy waive or simply ignore you?

I find that about half never signal back. I really don't care, I just think, "Okay buddy I guess you're just to cool to waive."

I have both a cruiser and the busa and find that I will only be acknowledged by the individuals who are riding what I am on at the time. Sportbikes when on the busa, cruisers when on the cruiser.....rarely any exceptions to this. Who cares, doesn't ruin my ride.

Ive found alot of times here in houston, two wheels is two wheels...granted i have to acknowledge the other rider first, but i usually get a response.

This guy was just havin a bad day or somethin!

Hell, even after my credit card was stolen this past weekend by the staff of a local food chain (will remain anonymous for now) i jumped right on "princess" and it calmed me down...

Like I already stated, Kahuna, I couldn't care less. I'm just the kind of person who always waives back. I think it's funny how some people are so uptight, timid, tough guy, etc. that they refuse to waive back for whatever reason.

Sneek up in the blind spots and blast bye him with the rpm's near red, whatever gear. Screaming bye like that would give him a taste of his own. Scare that &RICK.

When he went on the ON Ramp and slowed just what did you expect

? I mean he WAS on a Harley and there WAS a turn to make. Just how fast do you think a Harley with a 2.5% lean angle can handle in a turn. 10 MPH sounds just about right for his top speed

I usually give them a wide berth because I see so many of them parked at Bars and I figure the majority of them have been drinking.

glad to hear you are still kicking it chemist.

F-that guy bro, had he been on 288 we would have burned him!!

The guy must have a death wish. He almost rear-ends a vehicle, then he plays bump and run with another. With no gear...

The good part was that if he did become another statistic, you might have thought (briefly) about stopping to see if he was okay. Then, you would have been late for the good eats.

His luck was your luck.

I try to stay clear of hd's on the road cause most of them can hardley ride.
I get a kick out of watching them wobble all over the place as they take off or come to a stop.

I had a guy on a Harley pull up to me at a red light last night. He
commented on how nice my bike was.I told him I owned Harleys as well!
Pointed to my Hardley tattoo just in case he thought I was F.O.S....
