Harleys are fun, a totally different thing. Problem is with the newbies who found a non-viagra boner in Vee-land.

You can eat from both food groups, but the original -- and best forever -- bakkahaiyai-busa is still the most soulful bike ever created. A red-nose pitbull in two-wheeled motion...

Lamb found it funny!

However, maybe there twice!

Twice as long to get where they are going.

Twice the price for their rides.

Twice the time in the shop(at least).

Twice the weight

Twice the bugs in the teeth

Twice the size of their girls

Maybe the Harley riders aren't 1/2 after all!

I don't get the Harley thing at all. And it's not a cruiser thing. I don't understand how HD can keep selling bikes that are more expensive and poorer performing than their metric counterparts.

They are not buying just a motorcycle. They are buying a "lifestyle" that the HD marketing department has done one heck of a job selling. The metric companies could learn a lot from them in my opinion. In a lot of cases customer service ends as soon as the purchase is complete on metric bikes but Harley continues to court their owners with appreciation days , cookouts, concerts and such at the dealerships most of which are free. When is the last time anyone has heard of a Suzuki dealership doing anything like this?

I thought the 1/2 thing was hillarious!

My mechanic somewhat recently bought (ordered) a Heritage Softail / Road King hybrid in a special cream and red paint scheme - $24,000.00 thank ya very much...

He and I have this (polite) jab each other over our bike choices thing going on and he came in, sighed, and said he took delivery of the bike and it was leaking fluid out of each fork and missing an upgrade that he was charged $600 for.

I told him "look on the bright side, the dealership is having another cook out for customers this weekend and.... you are a mechanic!"
*insert rim-shot here*

Include only half the time to ride...

But would you be willing to pay another $10k so they can hold the cook out?

Agreed. HD is a lifestyle, however their demographics are changing and they need to adjust. The biker looking for a cheap bike he can work on and ride is gone. It is not executives and business people willing to drop $20k plus on a bike. That's why they have the water-cooled V-Rod - HD 'faithful' decry water cooled, but it is evolution.

(proud dad @ Aug. 15 2007,12:32) I ride a bad ass busa and a VTX.If a sport bike is all you have riden. You ain't got the BALLS to handle a heavy cruiser on a twisty road.
firedevil.gif
lmao. That was the main reason I sold my VTX, although I did like it's heft.

I was chasing the GSXR pack, and just got tired of grinding my pengs every time I leaned hauling 80+ through turns that I shouldn't have been taking at those speeds without a helmet.

Yeah, I do misser sometimes...
AAAssjani.gif

My VTX1300C was $9200 OTD.It's 80 CID engine has the same power as a Harley 88 CID.That's 150 more cc's on the Harley. This is carb to carb bike. The VTX gets it's power quicker.Water cooled and shaft drive.Maintaining this bike is nothing.Gas and go that's it.Oil change at 3k.The only thing I've done to this bike is rejet the carb cause of exhaust change. It has overhead cams also. The brakes are great!!!This 700lb. bike will stop!!!
The only thing Harley has over this bike is the chrome.Harley's chrome is nice.Harley is an image. It is a icon. And always will be.Just not for me.If you want one buy it.Just don't bash the people that don't want one and we won't bash you.
Year to date owning the busa,I put over 9k on it and only 2900 on the VTX.Sell it?No way.Wife is now useing it in photo shoots for senior pictures.Been in 2 shoots this week.
super.gif
The teenage girls love to get a sexy picture on the bike. And no I'm not showing pics of someone elses daughter. That would be wrong. It is a private shoot.
Cruisers have their purpose. As far as handling, you know you are there when the heal of your boot drags or the pegs.
wow.gif
Just gotta ride differant that's all.
No power?Yep,no power.Do you know what kind of car it take to beat me in the 1/4 on that VTX?You better have 400+hp and get a good lauch or I'll toast you.I have a blast doing that.
To each his or her own.Just have fun and ride within your means on what ever it is.

I wear the same gear on the VTX as the busa.Except the fullface helmet is a differant color.

It wasn't "cool" in my circle, and I hadn't seen road paint at the time...

Its amazing how watching the meat that was a person 15 minutes earlier smeared all over the road will make you want to wear a helmet.

I dont have a problem with anyone who owns a HD as long as they arent brain washed into thinking is a superior machine - you know the type

My current ride is a Triumph Rocket III and it loves to dine on hogs

.We are all on 2 (or 3) wheels.....My only problem is with the HD's that think they are fast............What are they thinking.  All bikes are created for a purpose sometimes they forget what the purpose is.
