HEATED GLOVES

Hey all, I'm thinking of purshasing a pair of heated gloves. Are they effective? A few locals have them in stock for about $139-$182. To those who use or have used them, your input is appreciated. Thanks!! P.S. the search wasn't working for me.

Do you have a heated jacket liner? If not, the money would be better spent on a liner. If you have a liner, the gloves make an effective addition.

My wife loves her heated grips.... reminds me. I need to install a pair on her new bike.

I have the Tour Master Synergy vest and gloves. I have comfortably ridden in 34 to 37 deg temps with them on. They pull less current that most. Both together are around 100W, and they come with the heat controllers.

I don't have a heated liner but it's not my body that gets cold, it's my hands. Does having the heated liner make the gloves perform better? Thanks.

Synergy gloves only heat the top of your hands. The part that gets the wind when you ride. Heated grips would be a nice compliment, but are not needed above freezing IMO.

I use girbing's stuff and no, the jacket won't make them perform better. They'll work just fine by themselves. But as for the batt powered or 12v wired, use the 12v. The battery life isn't very long. You'll spend a fortune in batteries. I love my stuff. I have the jacket liner and the g3 gloves. Don't get the classic gloves cause they're HUGE! I work with a guy that has the classic and he used mine one day and he's gonna get the g3.

I use the Widder electric gloves and I ride all year long. Last thursday went to work on a 13 degree morning and not one part of my hand or fingers were cold. Not even a bit.
I love em and don't regret the purchase.

I have Gerbing's...both gloves and socks...never even considered a vest. If my hands and feet are toasty, I could be naked (exaggeration). I ride in 25-30 degrees sometimes and am never cold. BTW that doesn't mean you shouldn't have the best layered/armored bike jacket you can find too. Stay warm. Raydog

When your body starts to lose heat the extremities are the first parts to go cold as you body withdraws blood to your core to keep your lungs heart etc, warm. By pumping heat into your torso, your body keeps the warm blood circulating to the hands and feet.  Even in the low 40's I don't need winter riding gloves when riding with the heated liner. I am NOT saying the gloves are of no use. They are excellent, but a heated jacket liner is the place to start.

Just my far northern two cents.
