Helmet Headsets

Any suggestions on helmet headsets for intercom or bike-to-bike communication? The best of audio equipment is limited by the ability of the headsets to make communication understandable at speed from wind noise. Would be great if there's something that works pretty well at an affordable price. Thanks for the help.

I have an autocom system and have no complaints...

I'm using a SRL for Shoei Neotec II. I love the combination. Sitting here typing whilst wearing the helmet, listening the Muse. Make phone calls, take calls, while music is playing (music automatically pauses). I can also record my voice using the app called Recorder HQ. It pairs with the bluetooth from the headset, and I can log rides, my thoughts while riding, then sync that with footage from my Go Pro mounted on the center hole of the triple clamp. The combination gives me everything I need for communications, connected riding with others, up to 8, and up to one mile range. Not that I plan to ride with 8 people, but it's an option. The price for everything was just under $1,000. Which is good money for what I now have and will enjoy for years to come.

Even though this is an old thread (2007), it isn't a bad thread to revisit.

I personally ride my motorcycle to escape all the connections from the world and never listen to music as I can't hear another vehicle, a horn, someone shouting a warning, or an unusual noise coming from the bike.

There was a (short) time when I rode with music but found it was more of a distraction than I realized.

Case in point, my neighbor cuts his grass wearing a headset...he couldn't hear the bearing going on his deck....I waved him down and once he took off his headset, he instantly heard the noise and shut down the tractor...it could have been quite a bit more costly had that bearing let go...as it was it only cost him a spindle...

I totally agree with the issue of distraction. I tend not to listen to music at any significant volume, just a low sort of background. The real reason I have the set is so I can take a call from my wife if she feels the need to see if I'm still alive.
