Helmet. What is the lightest/least fogging

Shoei, arai, Suomy.

the rest are noisy garbage.

i have an AC10 HJC that everyone raved about....would rather use is as a bed pan than a helmet..total turd compared to a high end helmet.

Tried on the EXO1000 at the dealer....felt super cheap and clanky, so did the HJC. I guess I'll stick with Suomy a few more years.

And no....don't wanna hear a rebuttle unless you own both a high end and a cheap helmet. There are big differences.

scorpion 1k here. going into 2nd season with it and it is still fog free and hands down the best helmet I own.(4 others with dust on them)

I bought a new ICON helemt at the beginning of this riding season and the fog free visor works REAL good. The helemt is very aerodynamic. I would have thought with the way it was shaped that it would cause me problems when i turned my head but it doesnt. It flows alot of air as well. Here is a link to the one i bought from Jester @ Ryders Connection. http://www.rideicon.com/product_details.jsp?category=1236&id=6380

Shoei RF-1000, I will never look back. I love it, it is quiet and all of the controls work like they are supposed to, no fogging, light weight, fit and finish is excellent.

Suomy is the lightest (but they do not fit my head, they fit "round" heads..

My Arai and Shoei fit much better and are both pretty quiet..

I wear earplugs when I ride at speed anyway..

Fogfree? get the liners that stop it.. funny thing here.. quiet and fogfree do not go together..

Air circulation is the key to fog free... problem is that air makes noise... sort of a conundrum, fog or noise..

the Shoei RF1000 I have fogs pretty easy at low speeds..but is pretty quiet..

Not with a Scorpion! They're fog free no matter what!

I loved my Shoei helmet, had an HHC (Not to be mistaken with HJC) knock off brand and the only downside was it was heavy as hell, snell rated tho and under $100. My Shoei was around $450, this time around I ordered an HJC AC-12 Carbon but I had to go up 2 sizes to make it fit my fat head. I guess it all depends on your head shape and how it feels to you. Go to a big dealer and try on a few until you find one you like then don't worry about wind noise, ride with an MP3 player and ear buds.

Wow! I never expected this many replies. Thanks people. Looks like I have a lot of choices to look at!

there are liners you can buy that make shields pretty much fog free(my first post) but FIT is way more important..

You need to try on a few lids and see what fits first, if Shoei fits well, you may find the Suomy does not fit at all... and visa versa..

After you find the brands that fit your head type, you can go from there... comfort and fit are first priority anyway..

I could not find the "weight" of the Scorpion lids... anyone know how much they weigh?

I have 3 helmets all ICON because they are the only ones that fit my grape right,my Domain is the lightest its made of Carbon Fiber but the only down fall is the damn air ram vents, they work great but a little too good,at speed its tuff to turn your head and i have eagle break mirrors which are only good for show,so i need to turn my head ALOT! I wear the Mainframe 90% of the time, not as light, but just as comfortable,I think comfort is the most important thing with regrds to helmets,if its not comfortable your not gonna want to wear it,as far as fogging up,that depends on the temp out side,if its cold out and your not going a constant speed, its gonna fog for the mear fact its warmer/humid in your helmet then it is outside, but at speed it they all stay clear.I vote for Icon!!

Shoei X-11 with a Pin-Lock shield. Simple, high quality, and it works.

suomy ive had them all and probably the second best that i like now is the new wiki i got really light and some great graphics

Arai Corsair with a Fog City Hyper optics Fog shield here. But as mentioned previously a good fitting $100 helmet is a far superior solution to a $600 helmet that does not!

+1 I have the matching shoei rf1000 for the orange and black K8. This helmet fits like a glove,is sooooo light,AND it soooooo quiet with the visor down(night and day difference). The finish is so nice it get waxed and bugs cleaned off every ride. Sleeps on the floor next to my bed. Fogs a little only at stops for a second but clears instantly once I get moving. I DON"T have the nose and mouth shield installed even though they came with the helmet but the slight fogging at stops isn't significant enough in my oppinion to install these goodies.
