Get the manual and follow ONE STEP AT A TIME
every detail no matter how small

LOTS AND LOTS of zip lock bags and a sharpie
bag hardware with what it come off of and write it down

Almost anyone could do it

Read through the service manual and see if it is something you would feel comfortable doing. I've never done more than install exhaust or fairings on a motorcycle but currently the engine is sitting on the floor in my garage. Just depends on mechanically inclined you are.

Just got done with it actually. Pulled the engine, split the case and sent the trans off to M/T Performance to have it undercut. Just got it all put back together a few days ago.
