HID with Headlight Modulator ?

I'm running a Diamond Star headlight modulator on my '01 'Busa low beam halogen and would like to convert both my lights to HIDs. I'm wondering if anyone who has done the HID conversion is also running a modulator ??
I know the HIDs are brighter than the stock halogens, so frontal visibility will be better, but I would really like to keep the modulator.
I've been riding for 25 years and have been cut off several times with one nasty collision on my (bright red & white...) '86 FJ1200 several years ago. Since I installed the modulator on the (black & grey) 'Busa in '01 I have never been cut off ! I often have other drivers comment at traffic lights that they saw me coming from a mile away in their rear view mirrors, or they stop to tell me that my headlight is busted because it's flashing... Either way, I know they see me better

I highly recommend using one of these modulator units for personal survival to anyone. I'm just hoping it works with HIDs...
Oh... also wondering if the Busazilla site is still the place to go for the 'Busa HID kit ? I don't think you can beat the $175 price unless you spend a lot of time searching through eBay and try to get all the components separately...
Thanks !

Actually you can buy HID set of two for about $100. some people think that they are different when in fact they don`t. all HID sets pretty much the same. I`d recommend one without igniters or should I say with integrated igniters. $88 of ebay + shipping. I would also use 10K 12K bulb as high beam and 5K-6K for low beam. But that my personal recommendations. 10K could be seen in bright daylight when 5K 6K not so. You can also use yellow halogen as high beam for better visibility during the day.
Modulators can NOT be used with HIDs.

Thanks for the feedback Vic, I was considering using yellow for the high beam since it might be good for fog (?), and certainly would add to frontal visibility.
I'm disappointed I won't be able to run my modulator with HID bulbs. I might just swap the modulator wiring to the high beam and keep that as a halogen and convert the low to HID...
I assumed most of the HID kits were pretty much the same. A lot of them look identical and are probably made by the same manufacturer but with different branding on the casing. I was definitely looking for a kit with the igniter built into the ballast (I assume this is the main difference between the newer Gen 4 or 5 kits and the older ones).
Most of the HID kits I've seen on eBay are going for about $165 or a lot more. I would be really happy to get a kit for $88... can you give me a seller name or other info ?
Thanks !

As a truck driver I must say that those modulators suck. I saw a guy on a bike get killed last year because somebody had on of those and distracted the driver of a car, the cars drivers fixated on the flashing light and ran over another bike. Those in my opinion are an accident waiting to happen. Just like cop cars on the highway with lights on, people stare at the pretty lights and that causes accidents.

That's a sad story... I suppose a flashing headlight might be somewhat of a novelty to some drivers, but most cop cars and other emergency vehicles have them... If a driver fixates on something to the point of losing situational awareness, then I would say it shows very poor driving skills.

(Bokey @ Mar. 31 2007,06:26) Just do HID on the low beam and the modulator on the 'regular' high beam?
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too... I might start by removing the modulator altogether and running a 6000 K HID on the low beam to see how that works for visibility. If I find I'm not being seen then I'll run the modulator on the high beam.
