High beam

My high beams have alway been worthless, aimed to high. The only time their worth anything is in corners.

I just ride with my High Beam on all the time with HID's (8000).
I never have anybody complain or flash me...

Do both the hi and low bulbs run on the 2nd gen when hi beam is switched on? Isn't that different than the 1st gen bike when the bulbs were on a toggle?

Funny that the owners manual says to not hold the passing switch too long because both bulbs would be lit, why then is it ok when hibeam is switched on to have both lit?

This.
My lowbeam looks good if the hi beam is literally in the tree tops.
Otherwise the low beam is scattered and looks awful, and it really is useless, but that's the only way to get the hi beam right.

x2. mine looks like a Christmas tree pattern because i have it really low that way my hi beam is useful on country roads. i live in the middle of no where basically so i prefer the Hi beam being aimed correctly. it's not like i really need the low beam in town due to street lights anyways.

The low beam is scattered because of the headlight itself.
The Busa headlight is NOT designed for HID bulbs. The hi beam only appears better because it is a projector type housing, aside from the aim.
A member here posted how they cut the headlight housing and were able to make independent hi and low beam adjustements.
That combined with LED bulbs, or sealed projector HID housings installed in the Busa headlight are the only way to get good lighting.
Aside from adding additional driving lights.

Sixpack is 100% correct. I started out with just HID bulbs ,light was scattered and I did not realize how poor the light really was. It was nice and bright right in front of the bike and gave the false illusion of projecting light down the road. They light reflective signs up for miles, but signs are not what is going to jump out in front of you on a country road.

Projectors has got to be some of the best money I have spent on my busa so far. I ride 90 minutes in the dark every morning to work.

^That's a great set up.
Costly, but well worth it.

I had a company in New York do the retrofit. I don't have any pictures of the output. Sorry I don't know how to post links with my phone but if you do a search on here for "2hip's operation overkill" member orge posted some great pictures of a retrofit he did. It's the same setup as mine.

No, I did talk to him about doing it and he said that the mini h1 projectors are the only ones that would fit in the headlight housing. When I told him I wanted the 2.5" FX-R projectors installed he told me that it can't be done.

I don't want to advertise publicly for some one that is not a sponsor but if you would like to contact the guy shoot me a PM and I will give you his info.

The wierd thing is that same guy has pics of a busa with an FX-R / S2000 retrofit on his website
