Hillybilly hump mod

I guess the wood knobs work, but even a little too hill billy for a guy whose high school mascot was the <table style=filter:glow(color=red)>Hay Balers</table>

I just installed the Polished Stainless kit: $6.95 plus shipping (also got the Dress Up Kit Tail Bolt kit for $4.95) and no hill billy action at all.

Where the hell have these been hiding?!? I would have bought these in a heartbeat, at that price cheaper than driving around finding parts...

Somebody needs to post a sticky under mods where everyone can find that link.
dude sells them on ebay

Man, you guys are brilliant! Great, simple solution. My only suggestion would be to use metal pulls, or as GSXTasy suggests, metal thumb screws. That's what Ducati uses; you tighten them with a quarter. Wonder why Suzuki doesn't use the same system as they do with the seat--you know, a couple of hooks in the back, and just two thumb screws in the front?

I had these exact same ones... Already have one MIA, so gotta find something better that won't vibrate loose.

It doesn't get MORE hill billy then cutting out a hatch, using a hinge and a latch. so how would black wooden knobs be anyworse.

Good idea for those who can't wait or want something different.

Well, I put 150 miles on her today with my "hillbilly humpmod" (work and back). A decent part of the round trip was at 100+ and a couple of blips to 140 or so (just to test the vibration issue). So far so good, it may be that the wood is just soft enough to get a good grip on the plastic. I will let you know after then end of the week. I make that trip every day.

Those are the ones I got on e-bay . I kept losing one . Lost it twice . The guy on e-bay that sells them is top notch person . He sent me the first one free . I couldn't ask him to do it again though . then I got the d-ring ones .

I think I'm gonna try and go to Stine's.. Not sure if it's a local store or whatnot, but it's as big if not bigger than Lowes or home depot. And has EVERYTHING I'd need to make my own. I know they have tons of metric stuff!
