Frankly, its so irrelevant now which bike is "fastest" anyway. Its all about the rider for the most part now. Even that article that compared the Busa to the ZX12, there are not many (any) of us at this site that could pull a bone stock Busa into the 9s. That guy is a professional seasoned drag racer! You put a great rider on a GSXR600 and he will kick the poop out of a newbie on a Busa and vice-versa. Of course, what is "fastest" anyway...? Top-speed, they're all limited anyway... 1/4 mile... track times...

were going to test the liter bikes. 1/4 mile, rolling mile, and some twisties. we allready have the R-1 and honduh "RufRuf" 1000 ready to roll as soon as they arrive. may have to "test ride" the 10 if ya know what I mean, but I hope one of our riders gets one, or someone we know thats up for it. we will use busas for filming the roll ons. line the liter bikes up side by side, and try to film all 4 bikes right up to the limiters in 6th gear! mark top speed with GPS and see which bike gets there first....for the quarter mile we will use a track day and a couple of the local holeshooters to see which bike is the quickest, a "round robin" so to speak. the twisties will be tricky though, I say we find a nice twisty one, bout a fifty miler and let em rip with cams mounted on em? any suggestions?
I suggest you use the same rider for the same tests with the same tires, otherwise your results will be biased towards the better riders and the better tires...
This has been tried before and the only way to make a fair assessment between bikes that have similar power/weight ratios is to normalize to the riders ability and run the same tires!!!
Cool project, maybe write to Motorcyclist to get some help...?

not gonna do it that way, gonna use whatever tires come stock on the bikes and so on, the qurter mile times will be ran with two different seasoned pilots that regularly race at Pacific Raceway. since it will be done on a track day we will need to use our passes wisely for the round robin. the roll ons will be a no brainer and the owners will be competing on thier bikes, they should be able to handle the task, I 'm sure we'll do a few practice runs before we shoot anyways. as for the twisties its every man for himself the owners can have whoever they want ride their bikes, I,ll be on the gixxer :-) its not gonna be one of those wishy washy test reports you see in the mags, its gonna be a real life test with real life riders, captured on video... I guess if the honda, R-1 and kawi cant hang with the mighty gixxer they'll will have to recrute faster riders :-)
