Please don't try to twist the facts. The man invaded another's home with a gun intending to do him harm and or steal what he had. He got what he deserved and does not at that point deserve sympathy or help from the ones he himself would have hurt. What court does he need to go to? How could there be any question of his guilt? There was no question who the victim was and who was the assailant. Stop defending criminals. He should have been left to the destiny he chose for himself. He lost his right to respect for his life when he tried to take another's.
I'm not twisting the facts. Your overlooking them.
I don't disagree that based on what was presented he got what he deserved in this case. However, these are the facts that we know after the fact. We know his guilt after we sit here and have time to read and analyze the situation. Your making your determination after the situation has been diffused and sorted.
The first cops on the scene don't have the luxury of the time, like you do, to analyze all the details and facts so they can play , judge, jury and executioner in the few seconds or minutes it takes for someone to die. They walk into the scene of chaos and have to secure it. At that point they don't know who's who or what's what. Do they say to the guy that is holding the gun, claiming he lives there oh okay, just hang on to that weapon for us. He11 no! They stick a gun in his face, tell him to drop it and get on the ground! Why because they don't know, who's who or what's what.
You want to disregard the Constitution and live in a Police State? Give me a break. At least think through what your saying. The decision of who lives or dies, who gets medical attention or not should not be made by a cop on the scene. Their job is to secure and stabilize the situation, not deny due process or civil rights. I don't want cops to have some preconceived notion of guilt based upon who's holding the gun and who's got a gunshot wound. I want them to be impartial, if they are not, the guilty go free because of their bias brought out at trial. Maybe we should just hire psychic cops, shut down the judicial system and let the them decide guilt, punishment and carry out the sentence all with in say, 5 mins? The time that it takes for the guy on the floor to bleed out?
