Horsepower question

My best friend has a busa and dont get me wrong but i love the bike. i have a 2006 zx-10r i figured he would spank me with a roll on. but we both hammered down and he said i was pulling on him pretty good. but thats a second gear roll put us at a dead stop and i have no chance.

the liter bike are really powerful. my best mph yesterday was 143 and thats completly stock. his best mph on the busa was 139. he still ran better times because its so quick of the line

This topic has been argued over before. Everyone that has spent many hours on a new liter bike will agree they are faster, because they are. The busa has better aerodynamics and will have a higher top end speed, but that is the only thing busa riders can throw back at liter bike riders. In all reality, how often do you folks ride at 170mph +

I ride a busa. I have owned multiple 1000's. I like both. I prefer the busa for it's comfort, torque, and ease of drag racing, but I will never run my mouth to someone on a liter bike because I know the truth.

Are you including the 08' Busa in this comparison, the Gen 1 bike or both?

No stock liter bike off the shelf will out perform the new generation busa. I have both. My old busa was just about neck and neck with the GSXR1K. I've run that comparison a number of times and the two are so close in speed up to a buck fifty and then the busa can gain a little. I have no doubt the Gixxer will have a very tough time showing the new busa it's tail light.

Both are wonderful bikes and I love my gixxer1K but she is no match for the mighty 08 busa. Although the busa is no slouch in the twisties, she stands no chance with the gixxer once the road/track gets a few kinks.

I agree with the 1k's against the Gen 1 busa. I would run neck and neck down the straight away at VIR north course with my 02 1k against the gen. 1 busa. Then when it came to braking and turns the 1k has it covered. Now that is if both riders are equally skilled. I do not have my 08 yet, but would agree it is a different bike and should make it harder to for 1k to give it hell.

I did a search and the only engine dyno for a bike is a custom made job, At least that I could find.
